I've had to wait a little while to post about this little gem. This bag is a gift for my lovely sister-in-law's birthday. And since she's known to read this blog, I had to wait. But today she's in town all the way from Maryland and we get to see her! Woohoo!

I bought this fabric a while back, before I'd learned the language of making bags, because of it's great potential.Do you know how tricky it is to take a picture of yourself holding a bag?
So I resorted to having my not-quite-5-year-old give it a try. Not too bad.

Then he asked if I would take a picture of him with his Transformer walkie-talkies and put it on the 'blob' too.
How could I say no?
It is good to be back among the land of the living. Wednesday night I was struck down with whatever it was that my 2-year-old had. Bleh. Fortunately I did not throw-up on any quilts. Also fortunate was the fact that I had been to the grocery store, Costco, the library, picked-up my daughter's new glasses and put away 7 loads of laundry within the 24-hours before I was consumed with feeling gross. (You know it's really bad when even the thought of sewing or reading blogs doesn't sound remotely appealing.) And the final fortunate thing: my lovely husband took the day off yesterday to run the show around here. I'm just glad for his sake that I could time my illness with the first day of the NCAA Basketball Tournament. (Thank you and you're welcome, dear.)

It's so functional. Love the pockets and I've already gotten the, 'I love that bag!' to which I get to respond, "My awesome sister in law made it!"

Thanks. Love you!

I love the bag too. I found a print very similar today, and after looking at your blog this morning, I'm keen to let my creativity go wild and adapt your design. Thanks. I love your blog!

I am wondering what pattern you used for this - it looks like it went together really quick!
