Tamiflu is our friend

So last Sunday night we were at my parents' house for dinner and my sister asks, "Have you got the swine flu vaccines yet?" and I answered, "No, but I should probably get on that." Well, before I had time to even think about finding a location to get some of the elusive shots, my 5-year-old came home from school the next day coughing and not looking so hot. Enter the swine flu. Sadly with him we didn't get it diagnosed until it was too late for him to take Tamiflu, but when my 12-year-old daughter started having symptoms on Friday, we promptly put everyone on the drugs. My husband started feeling crumby yesterday, but the other 3 of us are doing okay and I'm praying the meds do their job. We're surviving - nothing apocalyptic - but not the funnest week we've had. So now that I'm going into week two of being a hermit, maybe I'll finally finish getting this room put together. Can you tell I'm making progress? Well, probably not (other that the stuff on the walls) but serious progress has been made. I don't know if it will ever be Better-Homes/Martha-Stewart worthy, but as long as it's organized and functional and inspirational to me and not just black hole of craft junk, I'm good.

Oh no! Two of my guys had it last May, luckily Tamiflu did it's job and the rest of us were fine. As you said, not the most fun week, but lots of fuilds and lounging around do the trick.

Your quilts look fabulous hanging! Makes for a very cheery room.

I hope your family gets to feeling better and no one else gets it.

Hope you get your room together soon. I always say when I clean, it gets worse before it gets better.LOL!

my seven year old was diagnosed with H1N1 today. And in JC,MO they are only letting you have Tamiflu if you are high risk. So we just have to let it run its course I guess.

I am so sorry, it is going around like crazy. My girls are high risk and so we got vaccinated a few weeks ago, but they need a second dose in two more weeks, and the doctor is now out. So I really hope we don't get it. I wish you good luck... and that everyone's better by Halloween.

So sorry to hear that everyone is sick. I hope everyone has a quick recovery and you can come out of being a hermit soon. I am sure that you are making progress in your room. I know because that is what my rooms look like before it looks better.

I saw Tamiflu work wonders on my nephew. One day he was down and out, the next day he was back to normal. Crazy. I hope everyone is feeling better.

My oldest daughter went to Disneyland a week ago and came home with the swine flu. Tamilflu really helped her also. From what I hear, you were lucky to get Tamiflu. In our area of St. George, you have to be in the high risk category.
I hope you are all feeling better soon.

Another thumbs up for Tamiflu. Just finished my course of it today, after being sick with who knows what for 3 weeks (I suspect a case of Strep, sinus infection and then the flu). You know you're sick when you're too exhausted to sew or surf sewing/quilting blogs. :) Take care and hope you're all healthy soon!

Blech! We had it too! All six of us were out for a little over a week. We didn't get Tamiflu so we ran the course. It wasn't horrible, but it sure wasn't fun. I'm still trying to recover the house...

I have 5 tamiflu doses for 5 people. My son got it (before I had the tamiflu) but no one else, so far. Crossing fingers.

I have a messy room like that! I think mine is worse, though. Fewer boxes, more everyday junk. The quilts cheer it up quite a bit!
