So last night as we were going to sleep my husband tells me,
"Oh, by the way, Tuesday morning I'm going to the accountant
so I'm going to need all of your financial information for your business stuff over the past year."
So instead of publishing a tutorial, I've been playing with Excel spreadsheets today.
(Just what everyone wants to do during the Christmas season!)
I feel like I'm doing a bit of a bait and switch. Sorry.
Watch for the tutorial Tuesday afternoon. :)

This is one of the quilts of Christmas past.
I made this 3 years ago from 3 Sister's Mistletoe Manor for Moda collection.

I had a bunch of scraps left over so I made this tree-skirt last year.
And yes, it still needs a binding.

And guess what else I found?
A bunch more of the scraps left over.
I keep thinking I'm going to make something with them,
but I'm not.
It's time to let them go.
These are small remnants,
but there's probably enough to piece a quilt top from them.
So if you want them, let me know.
If more than one person wants them, I'll use our favorite random number generator.

And there's a second set. These pieces were all left over from cutting kits.
They're all roughly 8" x 3".
I'm going to get rid of this set too.
Let me know if you have a preference.
See you Tuesday!
In the meantime, I'll be pretending I know something about accounting.
And in other brilliant moves today, I forgot to hide the bag of Transformers (Christmas presents) I bought at Walmart before my 5-year-old got home from school. He was so excited when he saw them and slightly angry that I ran and grabbed them out of his hands. Oh well. Surprises are overrated sometimes.
Have a happy weekend!

The first set catches my eye! Looking forward to the tutorial. :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful scraps -- I think I'd like the first set, but either is fine. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteMistletoe Manor was my first fat quarter tower. Mom was so excited when I started quilting, so she sprung for a stack for a Christmas gift. Still one of my favorite collections!!
ReplyDeleteI always find uses for awesome scrap pieces! Would love them too!
ReplyDeleteFunny that you are doing the accounting thing now. I have been thinking about how many more weeks to go until I really need to get going on that. I usually put it off until the second week in January. Don't really enjoy doing it. It looks like you have been able to get some things accomplished for the holidays any way. Too bad about the Transformers. I have done that too.
ReplyDeleteI would love your scraps. I am trying to make some quilts for little girls in the community whose dad's lost their jobs. For christmas the church got them new baby dolls and all the ladies are making different things for the dolls. I am making blankets!
ReplyDeletePut my name in for the first set of leftover fabrics! They are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteGreat scraps! I'd love to have those to make into something. I'd prefer the first set if I have a choice, but either would be fine by me! Thank you! :0)
ReplyDeleteI'm with Terry! I love the first set, Mistletoe Manor but either set would be great! Please throw my name into your Santa's hat!! Thanks so much!
ReplyDeletePaulette
Oof, accounting. Makes my head hurt!
ReplyDeleteI'd love your pile o' scraps. I need to make a Christmas skirt too.
Add me to the list please! I love those colors.
ReplyDeleteOOHH, I'd love them! A quilt "just like yours" would be splendid! For some reason, I'm not familiar with that line, I love the pinks in the whole mix. Man, I feel like a little begger! Thanks tho'.
ReplyDeleteWonderful quilt and tree skirt Amy! The Mistletoe Manor would be wonderful for something I am planning on making.
ReplyDeleteOh, pretty! I love scraps :) Cute fabric!
ReplyDeleteI love scraps! How generous of you right before the holidays! I wanted to make a Christmas quilt for my brother-in-law who is serving in Iraq, but never got to it, So if I win maybe I'll end up making one and using it next year as a thank you to him:)
ReplyDeletePlease add my name to the list. Either set would be wonderful to have. Have a great holiday!
ReplyDeleteI amazingly don't want to be in the running for the scraps, so if by some odd chance the random generator picks me, feel free to try again. (I have a LOT of scraps of my own that I need to pass on to someone else who would love them). However, the whole transformer episode cracked me. Too funny.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first started our web business I was determined to learn Quickbooks. After hiring CPA to train me (hourly rate), I asked how much she would charge if she just did it herself. Same hourly rate. "Here ya go," as I handed over all the paperwork to her. Good decision.
Lovely quilts!
ReplyDeleteAnd add me to the I want them!! list. YUMMY:-)
Oh Amy... either EITHER bundle would be so welcome here, and put to good use, I might add! I'm drooling just thinking that the matching and guesswork has already been done for me!
ReplyDeleteAnd accounting... yeech! I think I'd simply rather think about all those lovely scraps up for grabs! Quilt math is the only way to go!
Be sure to pop over my way for a Chriatmas giveaway... link is on my sidebar to take you to the entering place.

ReplyDeletei love both your quilt and the tree skirt ... great fabric line ... i'd love to be in on the scraps! .. maybe i could make a small christmas quilt out of them as i don't have a christmas quilt yet ...
ReplyDeleteOMGOSH! I have been looking for some Christmas scraps, I'm needing to make my 3 year old daughter a baby blanket for her 3 babies.... she says that 'all nana's gibe their grandbaybays blankets!' Which has given me a huge guilt trip. So I would like to be considered for either of the scraps! Thanks!
ReplyDeletePlease add my name to the first set. Very generous of you and very beautiful fabric. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteJulie
This quilt is really lovely! I love the colors. I hope this giveaway is open for international readers as well?
ReplyDeleteAh duh....did you really think you would get only one reply for those scraps girlie?;)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely going to need that random generator and of course if I win I'll take either...I'm just a scrap lovin' machine!!:)
Your quilt and skirt are lovely!!
When I started reading I thought that I was going to have to post and say that I really like those colors in that quilt. So of course I have to sign up for the scrap giveaway!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I'm having a giveaway too on my blog if anyone is interested.
I'd love your scraps! Thanks for the giveaway! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteaw, i'd love either set of scraps! good hearty pieces too. happy holidays!
ReplyDeleteLove your quilt and would love to have your scraps.
ReplyDeleteI love those fabrics, and the quilt you made from them, and would love to inherit your scraps!
ReplyDeleteI love your tree skirt!!! Oh gosh - those fabric scraps would be perfect to make a little playmat for my niece at Granny's house. Add my name in to the pot!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't tell you the amount of times I've forgotten to hide things from the kids. One day I'll learn. One day....
I will take either set...please pick me!! It's not that I NEED more fabric...I WANT more fabric!!
ReplyDeleteI would love some of those scraps! I am dreading the day my own girl is big enough to understand holidays and surprise gifts, I am no good at holding back (I just gave a Christmas gift today, just because I couldn't stand it any more is how bad I am).
ReplyDeleteAdd me in to random generator of joy! I love those colors and one can never have too many scraps...
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful scraps! I love your tree skirt too. I started one last year and I still don't have it quite pieced together. I'm hoping to have a top to use this year and maybe I'll get it quilted next.
ReplyDeleteAnd here I thought I would be the only one. Ahem. I'd love either. Here's to my luck with the random number generator. :)
ReplyDeleteAdd me please...I'd love the first grouping. But either would work. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLovely pieces, I'm interested, too. Either set would be great!
ReplyDeletePS: After some holiday shopping @ Target last night I realized I left the Christmas bags on the kitchen counter in plain sight. Full of remote control helicopters & Bak-U-Gans & Hello Kitty treasures. Luckily, no little eyes saw them.
Sigh I really dont need any scraps, but what the heck, toss my name in. The quilt you made is just lovely!
ReplyDeletethere are some fabrics in that top photo that are just begging to come home with me. I'll gladly adopt them! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love the Christmas quilt and tree skirt, so I think the scraps, maybe I should more respectfully call them "samples" ;-) of the fabrics used, will be more than welcome in my home. I like the other set of "samples" as well, so .... random generator you know what you are supposed to do!
ReplyDeleteJust a beginning quilter here... I think I saw you at AQ on Saturday. I would love some scraps to feed my growing quilting obsession. :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to have either group of scraps-of course the larger group would be best but whatever I can get! :) Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI would love either set. Thanks. They are both wonderful.
ReplyDeleteCount me in...I really like the first set of scraps...I'm using little scraps now for some CUTE ornaments I'm making as gifts, a girl can always use more scraps...I think?! :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to play with those scraps. I am loving the first pile the best but I am not picky! sadio@nb.sympatico.ca
