I just need time to sit down and execute! (hah!)
So, first of all, the MiniBoden spring catalog came.
I have never actually purchased anything from them (sadly)
but I love to flip through it for ideas. So fresh and cute!

These are a couple of tops that look feasible to me for my girls. I'm going to give them a whirl. Maybe using vintage sheets!
Oh my. I think it is lovely. With those circles!
And I love how it looks on the black. Smashing.
I'm thinking a pillow for now. Something that looks kind of Cath Kidston.
We had a little vintage swappy-poo a couple of months ago. I love what she's done!
I've wanted to do some thing like this ever since seeing the Purl's Liberty prints framed the same way, even collecting hoops when I'd go thrifting, but I've been paralyzed trying to decide what fabric to use. Seeing Amanda's hoops was an "Ah-ha" moment.
And speaking of spring, today my 5-year-old asked me: "Mom, is it Hedgehog Day?"
Me: "Uh, no, it's Groundhog Day."
5-year-old: "What is Groundhog Day?"
3-year-old brother pipes up: "It's when the gwound-hog sticks his head up to see his shadow. And if he sees it, he gets scared and goes back inside. And if he doesn't see it he goes outside to play with his friends!"
So there you go.
Wouldn't it be fun to have Hedgehog Day? Especially with Hedgehogs like this!

not that I want to tempt you in any way....but quite often you can get mini boden fabric on ebay.co.uk. I'm sorry if that has tipped you over the edge and you now need to go shopping ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm so flattered you like my dresden plate quilt - I am just crazy about it too and HAVE to make another (those little wedges are addictive!)
i would love to have hedgehog day too!
ReplyDeleteLoving some of the things that you are shamelessly going to copy! That is just the highest form of flattery isn't it?? I vote for a hedgehog day for sure!
ReplyDeleteMy girls consider the Mini Boden catalogue their Style Bible and I have purchased quite a bit from them. Love the styles, love the quality and the prices are decent IMO.
ReplyDeleteCute!! Makes me almost....almost...wish I still had young kids to sew for...almost!:)
ReplyDeleteStarted my new job at my LQS yesterday!! I'm tired but soooo happy....stroked Moda OZ all afternoon while I cut, cut, cut to make bundles and fat quarters!:) You'll have to come visit the store next time you visit your in-laws...only about 45 mins from there!:)
You are just full of ideas!
ReplyDeleteI Think it would be great to use Texture Magic on the top you want to make for your daughter. It would make the gathering go so much faster.
this is a amazing list of things to love....that dresden plate is beautiful....i love the fabric in the hoops idea. it looks beautiful
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing all of these wonderful inspirations...think I must shamelessly copy the Hope Valley Dresden quilt!
ReplyDeleteOoh, little girl tops out of vintage sheets, yes please!! Can't wait to see your hoops - thanks for the linky! :) xo
ReplyDeleteI put up some hooped fabric in my little girls room a few months ago. I love it. My only problem was after putting the nails in I kept on thinking, "Oh, I wish that one was over there a few inches..." I think next time I will use those removable adhesive hooks. It is amazing how a little fabric can look so cool. The cheapest wall art in the house.
ReplyDeleteI love the little blouse. I've wanted to try my hand at smocking... I'm a tad daunted by it. If it's anything like gathering, I'm sure I'll hate doing it and love the result. I fell in love with those hedgehogs too. My daughter Lily loves hedgehogs and wants me to make her one. We googled them and their not as cute as they look, they sometimes eat their young. But Lily didn't seem to care a bit.
ReplyDeleteI get the boden catalog every month and just drool!!! Even though the stuff ships from the UK it shows up really quickly! I've been really happy when them...
ReplyDeleteI save all of the mini boden catalogs, the BEST ideas for sewing kids clothes!!
I am so inspired! Must clean the kitchen and then get to crafting!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter Natalie has these hoop framed fabric thingies on her wall. They are sweet.
ReplyDeleteYes, I've seen the hanging vintagey fabric hoops on a few blogs of late. They are gorgeous.
ReplyDelete{Now, if I could convince myself to do some home decor instead of sitting on my bum & writing...}
I saw the Andong Floral Dress in the Tea Collection that's right up your girls' alley. Or the Diamond Mandarin Floral Dress is a great style and Boden-esque fabric. Speaking of Boden, I love their merino wool tops. Because I'm not shopping for little girls there at all.
