So, supposedly, it's Spring!
And it's Spring Break this week for the kids, which means time to visit with friends we don't see very much, lots of outings and adventures, and probably not much computer time. All good.
Saturday afternoon our kids were going stir crazy, so we bundled up and headed to a new park we discovered in the foothills of the mountains close to us. I thought it would be fun to share the views. They are spectacular! There's a bench swing under an awning up the hill from the playground.
This is the view from the swing. The scenery is all a little gray right now, but still beautiful. (The one good thing about the cold weather, I got the chance to wear my new mittens!)
And here are my eggs, Kona Color Card style. Ours aren't Martha Stewart worthy, it's just fun to let the kids 'express their creativity'. Okay, and me too. I love dying eggs and mixing colors and shades. Part of the reason I love that Kona card, I guess.
Our Easter weekend was great. We had Grandma come from Maryland for a few days last week, then an old friend of my husband's from New York, and yesterday two special friends of mine from the Isle of Man where I lived for 6 months during my time as a Mormon missionary in England. It's been 15 years since then, so it was a happy reunion! Especially meaningful because it was on Easter. Once again, felt like no time has passed. And I loved hearing those accents! My brother-in-law joked that our kids were all much more responsive and obedient while Tanya and Joan were there because they sounded like the "Supernanny." Maybe they'd like to come be my own Mary Poppins. My little guy loved doing his Thomas the Tank Engine puzzle with Tanya. Did you know that the Isle of Sodor is based on the Isle of Man? A little bit of trivia for all of you.
Hope the weather is actually 'springy' where you are!
