ReplyDeleteFollowing the birth of my last child, who turned 9 this week (!), I became very ill and spent the next months fighting for my life. I was determined to see my children grow up and I prayed that God would allow me to be here with them. I finally managed to get out of the hospital, but was in and out for the next two years and have been very sick since then. I have a lot of physical problems now so I sit a lot. Recently I was feeling sorry for myself and how I can no longer take the children on field trips, go outside and play ball, run around the park with them, etc. The self-pity was accomplishing nothing so I decided to find SOMETHING I could do with the kids while I sat on the couch! I had always wanted to make quilts and it seemed like a good time to start so that's what we did. :) Now I'm working on a quilt for each of my five children and they're actually making their own as well. I had never heard of Poppy Seed Fabrics before, but after I read your blog and looked through them, I saw very quickly what I love the most about them... they have universal appeal. The colors are vibrant and beautiful and the patterns are full of variety that I know my children will like as much as I do. I'm not sure how to enter the contest exactly, but I would LOVE to have some of the fabric to use for the quilts we're making. We've gotten most of our fabric thus far from old clothes at the thrift store so these would add much beauty to our projects. Thanks!
