Bijoux collection by Bari J. for Art Gallery Fabrics. I'm loving the rich, warm tones here. Definitely out of my color-comfort-zone. I'm excited to make something pretty with it. And there will be a tutorial involved as well, in the near future. Bijoux is available at the Fat Quarter Shop, and will be available soon at Mad About Patchwork in Canada.
Another collection that I'm super excited about, is Heather Ross's new collection Briar Rose for Windham fabrics.
I've been a Heather Ross fan for a few years now - I love her whimsical details in her illustrations. Like the little frog's overalls waiting on the blanket? So cute. Because of some licensing agreements, Heather has not been able to design on quilting cottons for a while, so it's fun to see a new collection again on cotton!
I love the palette in the collection. Lots of fresh, bright colors and I love that the color scheme has a little bit of a vintage sheet aura. I'm excited to make something with this collection soon, but still toying with setting ideas for the cute squares. If you're looking for some ideas for using BR, check out the Briar Rose Quilt Design Contest over at Threadbias. Briar Rose will be widely available by July but you can pre-order it at places like Westwood Acres and the Fat Quarter Shop.
If you're looking for fabric that you can get your hands on right now, let me introduce you to new sponsor, Marmalade Fabrics. One of there specialties is a monthly monochromatic bundle of fat quarters, called Around the Color Wheel. They come in solid bundles and prints. If you're looking to build your stash, this would be a great way to start.
And if you're still looking for a great gift for someone you love this Mother's Day (including yourself. What? I totally have bought myself birthday and mother's day gifts.) Craftsy is having a 50% off Sale today, May 11 and tomorrow May 12! Has anyone out there taken a Craftsy class that they love? Do share.
