Virtual Quilting Bee Block #11

It's time again for a new block in the Virtual Quilting Bee! Man, this summer is flying!  Today's block is by the talented Amy Ellis of Amy's Creative Side. I LOVE this lock! I can't wait to make it! Maybe today! (I'm still not caught up. But hopefully this weekend it will happen...)

If you're looking for more details or links to past blocks for the Virtual Quilting Bee go here.

And don't forget, if you're looking for inspiration and other versions of the the blocks from this series, check out the Virtual Quilting Bee group on Flickr for pictures of lots of other colors and fabric choices. I'm loving this collection by The Confused Quilter

Have fun! (And NO stress. This is supposed to be a stress-reliever, not stress-adder.) If you have questions, leave a comment and I will answer them there.

  1. LOVE the colors! This looks so bright and crisp, well done!

  2. Another pretty block! I've got block 10 cut so hopefully I can get this one cut and sew all at the same time! :0)

  3. I so like it that you show the blocks in solids as well as in prints. I was in my local QS the other day and noticed a couple of quilts hanging in the shop that would have been gorgeous except the creators had chosen both busy blocks and busy fabrics. It seemed to me that the final quilts, while displaying beautiful fabric and wonderful sewing talent, just looked like a lot of busyness. They could have chosen much simpler blocks to display the lovely fabric or simpler fabric to display the intricate blocks. Just my personal opinion.

  4. Love your blog! Your things are amazing and inspirational.

  5. All of these different blocks really gives someone like me new ideas when it comes to quilting.

Thank you so much for your comments - they make my day! I try to respond to as many as my 'mommy' time allows, but life sometimes gets in the way. Please know how much I appreciate each of them.

I apologize for the current comment settings that require a registered user account. They are the only way that I don't get tons of gross spam. I'm hoping Blogger will make a way where people who are not registered users, but would like to leave a comment can do so. Please, Blogger! In the mean time, thanks for your patience.

I also love to respond to questions. If you are a no-reply blogger, please leave an email address so I can get back to you. Or you can email me directly: amy @ Thanks!
