Classic Modern Quilts

I’m excited to share a little more about the Classic Modern Quilts book today as part of a blog tour.

All of the quilts in this book are based on traditional quilt blocks and then given a modern spin. All of the contributors also discuss their thoughts on modern quilting. This is the quilt I contributed for this book. You can read more about my Modern Red Cross quilt here.

Here is a sneak peak of a few of the other quilts in the book. This one is called Blaze by Adrianne Ove.

Your quilts are just gorgeous and I love the classic modern style. I am just getting into quilting and would love your book (it is going on my Christmas wish list).

Amy, I love your quilt in the book. It is such a clever way of putting together the design and I like the way you can see two different design depending on how you look at it. Did you quilt it or have someone else? Is that the 'square dance' pattern? I used that on a modern quilt I did and LOVE the design.

I pinned this quilt last night off of Pinterest. I had no idea I would get to see it today in my blogroll! I love how this design works year-round and looks so modern.

I don't know if you're giving away outside of the US, so jump over my name if you aren't! (I'm in Canada.)

I mostly just wanted to say that that quilt is really beautiful! The colours are so classic and it just looks crisp and lovely. I'm a little intrigued by the fact that it doesn't ping me as being an Americana type quilt – usually red, white, and blue

So exciting! As I was reading your post I though, "ooh I like the Blaze one" and then I saw it was by a friend from the Bay Area Modern Quilt Guild!! I should have known I'd love anything by her!

I absolutely love the Blaze quilt. I love the mix of bright colors with the black and white. A perfect balance of modern and classic quilting!
