I finally got the Kona solids version quilted, this one by the talented Emily Sessions.
I wanted really dense quilting on this one to fill all the white space. I gave Emily free-reign and just told her to do her thing and I think it’s pretty amazing!!
Now it’s your turn! Let’s see what you made using the Virtual Quilting Bee tutorials! First of all, this does NOT have to be a finished quilt. In case you can’t tell, I still haven’t put a binding on the Kona quilt. It’ll get done – just not in time for this party. Partial projects accepted! And it doesn’t have to be a whole quilt. If you made a pillow using one block from the VQB, link it up. One project per link, please, If you have multiple projects, you can create separate links.
You can either link up a blog post or link directly to a Flickr picture (here’s how to do that.) Or, if you just want to share via Instagram, that’s awesome too. Just use the hashtag #virtualquiltingbee. You can also see creations in various states of progress in the Virtual Quilting Bee Flickr group.
And here’s the fun part! Thanks to some generous sponsors, there are some fun prizes. The link-up system will be good for the next week – through March 10. Then I’m going to let you vote for your top three favorite (I think. I’m kind of a newbie at this link-up thing. If it works to vote, we’ll do it. If not, I’ll just pick all prize-winners randomly.) Three of the prizes will go to top vote get-ers. The rest will be chosen randomly from this link up and from the Instagram #virtualquiltingbee hashtag. Sound good??
And here are our sponsors and prizes!
Prize package from Diary of a Quilter: WINNER: #22 Jenifer
Can’t wait to see what you’ve made!! Remember, just one link per project below.
Post edit: Huge thanks to everyone who shared!! It was so fun to see everyone’s different versions. They were all beautiful! The WINNERS are posted above. I couldn’t figure out how the voting worked because I’m pathetic like that, so all winners were chosen using Radom.org. An email will be sent to each winner.
