Liberty of London from DuckaDilly + Giveaway

rainbow-liberty-stash-pack-1

{All images by DuckaDilly Fabrics}

Doesn’t that picture just make you mouth start watering? In my opinion, one of the prettiest fabric shops online is DuckaDilly, purveyor of all things Liberty of London. I don’t know if there are many prettier things in the fabric world than a bundle of Liberty lawns. They’re not only beautiful visually but equally stunning to the touch as well.

Duckadilly, owned by Lesley, is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Lesley has been a long time connoisseur of all things Liberty – having lived in London for a time and studied around the corner from the Liberty flagship store.  (If you are new to Liberty of London and wondering what all the fuss is, you can read more about Liberty of London and their famous fabrics here.)

color-stash-packs

The DuckaDilly site is not only beautiful, but SO well organized and easy to navigate including being able to sort not only by collection, but by color, season, and motif such as florals, animals, or children.

classic-revival-collection

Some new arrivals in the DuckaDilly shop include the Classic Revivals collection (above) and the Garden of Dreams – a collection with traditional Liberty florals as well as charming juevenille themed prints such as fairy houses, kites, ships, and toys.

classic-jelly-roll

One of my favorite things about Duckdilly is not only do they carry Liberty yardage, but they also stock bundles (aka Stash Packs  in monochromatic colors or rainbow varieties) and jelly-rolls – each containing 24 strips 2 1/2″ x  52″

charm-packs

as well as die-cut charm packs (in squares, hexagons and triangles). One thing I’ve found with Liberty prints is that a little bit of Liberty can go a long way. Getting a variety of Liberty prints together can give you so many options!

i-heart-liberty-club-2-1

If you like the idea of gradually gathering a little bit of Liberty fabric each month, check out DuckaDilly’s I Heart Liberty subscription club – there’s a variety of options where you can choose your price/size preference and 12 new Liberty prints will be delivered to your door each month for as long as you subscribe.

i-heart-liberty-club-1

Today, Lesley is generously offering 10% off storewide with coupon code DOQ10 now through Sunday, September 25. (Ends at midnight EST. Excludes subscriptions, gift cards, and sale items.)

Lesley is also giving away a $50 Gift Certificate to one of you. (Man, I wish I could win it!) To enter, visit DuckaDilly and leave a comment here, telling me something you love. CLOSED Giveaway open through Sunday, September 25 at midnight MST. (Try not to drool on your computer.)

I love anything Liberty Tana Lawn. I have been sewing on it for over 40 years. My first piece was a small one in yellow brought home by my then mother-in-law from Liberty House. I made a little dress for my baby daughter who is now 42. I always visit Liberty to buy fabric when I am in London, and have ordered from them on numerous occasions as well as from Duck a Dilly. I have blouses, kaftans, lap duvets, trinket trays (never waste a Tana lawn scrap), hankies, cosmetic bags and more made from Tana Lawn. I am finishing my first full sized hand appliqued quilt, and the backing is solid green Tana Lawn that I ordered from Liberty because I wanted it soft on the next-to-my-skin side. My favorite cotton to sew.

    Hi Amy,
I could not find a spot to post a comment. Came back to your blog a few times, scrolled down went back to DuckaDilly a few times …and now My laptop battery is low. LOL Time to plug back in.
So I sent an email to Lesley explaining the problem and how I had just found her shop in the last 48 hours. Then I tried you again and there the comments were! I lost them again though and had to try again ,The whole section was blank. This must be some strange reading for you.
Anyway From subscribing to DuckaDilly I got introduced to your blog which I have not had time to delve into yet.
I have had a fixation with Liberty of London Tana Lawn fabric for a bit now . I have some cording and a few small pieces of fabric purchased online. Sometimes the print would be as great as I thought but one or two not as good. I do not quilt but have wanted to learn for years. I want/need a very easy pattern (blocks) maybe? I just came across English paper piecing and had to look up what it is. Looks fiddly but so neat . I need a project (now that my children are in their early twenties ) to keep me busy. I think Liberty fabric is the push I need to try. The pictures on Lesley’s site of the hexagons /the spools of cord/binding and all the fabrics together fanned out give me hope I can do this. Until then it was just an idea but now I can visualize it a bit. All that beautiful fabric and I have never seen such pretty charm roll(?) before.

What I like about here shop is all the above . It is not one thing but all of it that gives me the spark, the want to try.
She makes it look easy all the colours and prints together but I imagine it is not.
    Thank you for reading this…
I look forward to getting your posts and will start reading your blog as soon as I send this.
If I don’t lose it first. It has happened.
    🙂

The fabrics are beautiful. I’ve loved LoL fabrics for a long time. Gorgeous prints, colors and they have a wonderful feel. My current favorite is Liberty of London Tana Lawn: Mae Blue (B) … but … I’d be hard-pressed to pick just one. The DuckaDilly website organization is top notch.

Oh my!! What an amazing giveaway! Thank you, Duckadilly for sponsoring- I’ll be hosting your sit ASAP!
As for what I love, I didn’t know if you meant fabric/quilting, or anything, so I’m going to answer both.
I love my son! He’s 7 and autistic. This year, we moved and he’s gone from a private autism school, to a public school that has 26 students in his classroom. We now have regular tests and homework. This all has been a huge change, but he’s come through it brilliantly! We just had our first parent-teacher conference and they are so proud of him! He’s making As and Bs and he was even voted by his classmates to be in the running for the school’s Fall Festival King! We are so proud of him!
As for fabric, oh I love it all! I got the chance to get a small snippet of Liberty once and fell in love with how soft and lush it is. The colors and designs are amazing- how could you pick just one? Touching a chintzy-floral Liberty lawn is like getting to feel England in a fabric!
