I’m in the middle of making projects and plans for Quilt Market in less than a month. It will be my first time having a booth and I’m trying not to stress out.
Today I put my Baby Lock Destiny 2 to work on some embroidery while I organized piles on my sewing table. It’s kind of nice to have a helper that thinks for itself! I’m also planning some Mother’s Day gifts using this machine. I’m still learning the ins and outs of machine embroidery – I know I haven’t even scratched the surface of all the capabilities out there.
Speaking of Mother’s Day – if you’re in need of some ideas for your favorite Quilter (or to share with those for whom you are their favorite quilter 😉 ) here’s my latest list of gifts to make or give a quilter/sewer (sewist?).
If you want to give the gift that keeps on giving, consider a fun subscription box. My Sew Sampler box from the Fat Quarter Shop arrived last week. I always LOVE the anticipation of what’s going to be inside. As always, this one was full of goodies. I’ve had my eye on Fig Tree’s Coney Island prints – and these two mini charm packs are just perfect for a fun, scrappy project. I’m in need of a new spring table runner and I think I may replicate this table runner from last fall with these spring-y prints.
Now, back to work. (Which, let’s be honest, is fun kind of work.)
In other news, today I officially am the mother of three teenagers. I’ll take all the prayers/well-wishes/good vibes you’ve got.
One last PSA: The Little Fabric Shop is clearing out all of their remaining fabric for $6 a yard. But if you take the remainder off what’s left on a bolt, it’s been marked down to $5! (All of the details are here.)
It’s a great time to stock up on quilt backs or fabric for charity quilts. (Lots of patriotic prints if you’re working on Quilts of Valor.)
