My quilt as it currently stands to add to the 100 Quilts for Christmas. It’s pieced, the back is ready, I’m going to sew it together envelope style and let my girls tie it when they’re on Christmas break from school next week. But I wanted to be able to link up today!
Today has been one of THOSE kinds of days. Trying to finish up Christmas errands on top of figuring out if I can fight the traffic citation I got last week. (Grr. The light was YELLOW! Seriously, I’m not just trying to weasel my way out of something. But I’m probably looking at Traffic school amidst all the other holiday hoopla.) The grand finale today was my poor child who threw-up in the car right as we finished the 30 minute trip to the dentist appointment we’ve already rescheduled twice. And now I’m wondering if we’re in for a week of round 2 of pass-the-stomach-bug amidst a crazy schedule of class Christmas programs and parties.
But you know what brought me out of my funk? Two things:
1- whoever it was that took the time to make a Nativity scene out of Del Taco cups, napkins, straws and ketchup packets. It totally made me smile tonight. I even took a picture with my phone to share with you all and then dropped my phone, had to replace the battery and lost that most recent picture- which I just discovered. Rats.
2 – the opportunity to help some new neighbors (including a pregnant mom) who are technically ‘homeless’ with all their possessions stored in their new garage because they had to move out of their rental last Saturday, but the city won’t give them an occupancy permit until some ticky-tack things on the new house are completed. There’s something about a pregnant woman in need of shelter in December to put things in perspective for you.

Sorry about the parking ticket…I got a ticket a month or so ago and just finished my online defensive driving. It was no cakewalk. I'm not a dumb person, but I have a hard time remembering very specific numbers when they are throwing them at you in every sentence. One of my final questions was how many people died in railroad crossing accidents in 2008…seriously.
I feel for your

Merry Christmas. Life happens and you have a smile in your post. When it is all history and you are looking back it will be these things that make you laugh and your family and friends being together and well that will make Christmas merry. Love and hugs. Lois

Isn't it nice when we have those gentle reminders that put things in perspective? The quilt is great and I love the idea of letting your daughters tie it!

Jennifer 🙂

Sounds like you need a big hot chocolate, with marshmellows AND whipped cream. The marshmellows keep the whipped cream from melting! ;0) Maybe a candy cane in it wouldn't hurt either! Have prayed for your holidays to brighten!!

Merry Christmas!!

You are right! Since our 10th grandchild made her appearance this morning, a pregnant woman or a newborn in December just makes the world seem like a better place! Thanks for helping them and I hope you can work out that ticket! Maybe you will have a compassionate judge…here's to a little holiday HOPE!

I had an "enlightening" experience Saturday that brought me out of a deep (hole) funk. It included white Christmas lights!
Driving school ugh, but when I took it, my driving became so much better. (hope I can say that without you thinking I was a terrible driver. it just helped many little subtle driving aspects.)

Let me say that I thought I was the only saying "rats" these days! Glad you know some else in the world is saying it too.
Nothing like noticing a local artist's fast food supply creation to lift your spirits and being able to pass it on.
