A recent finish. I love this stripy binding using Anne Kelle’s Remix Bermuda stripes. Isn’t it a cheerful looking binding? Brings some sunshine for dreary January. And makes me want to go to Bermuda.
This quilt, with many other Remix prints, is a creation for American Quilting, a shop in Orem, Utah, where I make samples. They had a lot of random brights that weren’t moving and so we decided to throw together a happy-go-lucky, psychedelic little quilt, guaranteed to stimulate busy babies.
Pre-cut kits for this quilt are available at American Quilting by calling 801-802-7841.
American Quilting has some other new baby quilts (that I did not make) available as well, in case the loud, bright look is not what you’re after. This cute turquoise, green, and gray quilt is called Eli.
This one is called Max and Whiskers.
And this one is called Ruby Dear. Each of these baby quilts measures about 42″ x 42″. The patchwork squares are pre-cut and pre-stacked in some of them so that all you need to do is pick-up a stacked row and start sewing. Most baby kits are $45-50 and include everything for the top, including ric-rac and binding. Backing is sold separate – 1 1/4 yard required. There are still a couple of these kits available as well. Just thought I’d share in case anyone out there is looking for a quick baby gift.
Many have asked about the Freebird Circles quilt from last week. Sadly I bought that kit over a year ago and they are long gone, as is that fabric. So sorry to tempt you with something that is no longer available. But I did notice that the new Half Moon Modern fabric also by Moda, uses Momo’s same dots. In this collection they are white on a solid color, but they’re the same shape and would look equally cool quilted like the dots in that Freebird quilt. Just a thought. You can find Half Moon Modern here, here, and here.
