Well hello, 2013. You’re already three days old. This year we’ve been ringing in the New Year with lots of snow. We’ve already shoveled more times in the past 2 weeks than all of last year combined. (Those are perfect snow crystals on my coat this morning.) It’s pretty, but I definitely enjoy it most when I don’t have to go out in it.
We’ve been wrapping up the holidays by hanging out with out-of-state family, going to basketball games, making trips to downtown Salt Lake City to see the lights…
… sledding and tracking down the gourmet Waffle Love Truck. And trying to put the house back together after all the Christmas hoopla. And zero sewing. I had great plans for a productive few days while my husband was off work to get a lot done, but instead I got a bug that made me feel like a piece of hud for a few days. Not a throw-up-kind-of-bug (thank goodness) but it wiped me out nonetheless. All part of the Christmas holidays, I guess. So now I’m trying to get caught-up and back on track.
And while I do that, I have something for you. I’ve wanted for some time now to have a giveaway as a way of thanking all of you for the lovely support and encouragement you are to me and to this blog. I have three copies of Moda Bake Shop’s Sweet Celebrations book to share as well as Moda fat quarters or pre-cuts to go with each book. To enter just leave a comment telling me something you’d like to see more of in the quilt-blog-world during the next year.
One entry per person, please. Be sure to leave an email address where I can reach you if you are a no-reply blogger. Giveaway open until Sunday, January 6 at midnight MST. GIVEAWAY CLOSED.
Thank you for such a wonderful giveaway! Oh, how I’d love to win! I would love to see more quick little projects, I especially love combining embroidery with quilting. Be especially blessed!
Oh, Amy! I’m sorry you’ve been unwell. My whole family got the flu, despite having flu shots. It’s been a rough Christmas break. Hoping everyone in your home and happy and well. Thank you for sharing your talents and kindness. I love seeing your work and learning how to do a little of what you do.
I’d like to see more giving back to others(thinking of myself for sure!). There’s so much talent in this blogging community, and hand mades are a great way to show someone love and compassion. I don’t think there can ever be too much of that to go around.
I'd love to see more projects using pink (my favorite!), pre-cuts(I love how much time these save) and easy/fast quilt patterns. Sometimes I just want a quilt done quickly where I don't have to think LOL! Is that too much to ask? ๐
I always love tutorials, and suggestions for gifts to be made! I realized recently (with the excitement over the "many trips around the world" quilt) that it is SO much fun to see different quilters' interpretations of pieced quilts. I cannot think of how to implement that, however, unless you do a quilt along. I have participated in only one — and liked the quilt so much that I
I'm always happy to see anything on blogs…pictures are a definite must…but tutorials, ideas, suggestions of places to shop, notifications of great sales…all those things are great. =) <br /><br />Happy New Year!
As a knitter for the past several years, I'm looking for more quilting inspiration to help me get back into quilting again. Some quicker projects as well as a few more indepth projects. Thanks, I look forward to reading your blog this year!
Would you post to Australia?<br />I would like to see some interesting colour combination ideas … something that's a bit out of the box and modern, while still being feminine and pretty.
HI! ALWAYS LOOKING FOR CHRISTMAS GIFT IDEAS:PLACEMATS,TABLE CLOTHS,ORNAMENTS ETC.<br />THANKS FOR A BEAUTIFUL GIVEAWAY!<br /><br />msstitcher1948@yahoo.com
Small quick projects to share (downloadable projects) along with tutorials that you can download to keep and do at a later date as we can't always get to them right away, nor can we always remember where we saw them.
I'm always looking for quilts using pre-cuts (charm packs are my favorite!) I'm a busy mom (who isn't) and I love using pre-cuts with a great easy peasy instant gratification quilt top, but looks complicated. Maybe that's asking a lot, but I know it's doable! Great giveaway, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Maybe it is just me or because I am about to start one, but I want to see recipes for full bed quilts. Especially king size. Yep, I am going to attempt a king sized pinwheel quilt. Wish me luck or that I will stay sane.<br />Brittany_bratt@yahoo.com
I love projects made with charm packs and really would love to see more mini quilts and/or bags and totes made with charm packs. Thanks for the chance!
I always love tutorials, I'm amazed at how creative some people can be. I have just joined 3 quilt-alongs, which I've never done before….and I'm thinking of maybe looking into joining a BEE….yikes! I also love any kind of bag to make.
Greetings!!<br /><br />I don't know about you but in the last couple of weeks I've noticed a slight change in the blogger world I visit…there seems to be more "traditional" with a twist (fresh fabrics) and I'm really liking it. <br /><br />I know my style is changing, I'm developing my sewing groove, so I am enjoying this new look on the old.<br /><br />I don't
I am new to your blog and have enjoyed what I have read so far. I like to see ideas for small projects and always appreciate the tutorials. I am doing a lot of baby quilts and lap quilts for charitable donations to shelters and hospices and am always on the look-out for simple ideas that look great.
What great pictures! I am always looking for tutorials! I love the old patterns, pinwheels, double wedding ring, etc. Thanks!<br />missysaprons@gmail.com
I would like a tutorial on how you pick you colors… everyone seems to have such great ideas. I really like QAL's as well, even if I don't join and just watch everyone's progress.
I love all of your snow. Looks fantastic. Though I can't name something in particular I like to see more on your blog, I would like to say a big thank you for all that you already share so freely with us. It's blogs like yours that motivate and inspire me, and for that, I am truly grateful.<br /><br />Just incase I'm a no-reply blogger: 4mrsgaskell@gmail.com
I love the variety and range of your tutorials and posts! Just off the top of my head, something more about bags, and gifts, would be nice to see. Thanks for the inspired giveaway!
Thank you for a lovely giveaway! Tutorials are always wonderful! How about some more knowledge of fabric sales? With shipping and fabric prices going up sales are always a great thing to know about! Thank you!<br />
Thanks for the great giveaway! I just found the blog today, but with my Christmas sewing machine I'm sure this will come to be a huge resource of knowledge!
It's so nice to see all your snow. I love Winter!<br />What a great giveaway! I would like to see more shortcuts to quilting, and time saving tips, also how to pick your color combo as well as pattern size picking. <br />Would love to win your fab giveaway. <br />Creativecaincabin@gmial.com<br />Thanks!
I love your blog and all you share with us. I like patterns that look complicated but are really easy to sew. Temple Square is so beautiful during the holidays, isn't it? Thanks for all you do!!<br />txjennywren.blogspot.com
Hi! I would like to see a QAL-even if it's just for something small like a wall quilt; or a hot pad gift set with different blocks for each. Thank you for the chance! ~AmyB
Thanks for the chance to win this great giveaway. I particularly love all the great tutorials that people post. They are always very informative. So lots more tutorials. lyn.robyn.smith@gmail.com
Love your tutorials – we can always use more of those. Being a fairly new beginner, quilts on the easier side are nice, too. I love small projects also. Thanks for the giveaway. <br />beatuofm@cox.net
I have the first book, and I'm interested in checking out the second. This year I hope to see lots of ideas for low volume quilts (since I just joined my first fabric swap – for low volume charmes)<br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />Sarah
So Sorry you were sick, we had it over Christmas here and had to cancel Christmas to New Year's because 90% of family was sick. A lot of disappoint little boys but they were to sick to even open presents. I love tutorials especially ideas with all the new fabric that is out this year. Happy New Year Sandra
I'm always looking for ideas for small projects – mug rugs, nice hotpads, etc. – using fat quarters, charm squares, strips. Thanks for the inspiration you give us! Happy new year.
I love your pictures of the snow, i wish we had some instead of the never ending rain we're suffering in the UK!<br />Whilst I love seeing quick projects, I also like the "big" blacks that are around at the moment – finishing at 12" or bigger so you don't need many to finish a quilt!<br />Thanks for another great giveaway!
Hi! I'm a new self taught quilter, so any tutorials are good tutorials for me! I would appreciate learning some easy gift ideas for teachers, co-workers, etc.
Love your blog and the inspiration you give me. I would love to see more ideas on quilt backs, something so the back is as unique and beautiful as the front.
I love tutorials, pictures of projects, along with comments on how you made this better/easier. I'd also like recommendations for quilting products, like what brand of fusibles you like best, etc. Thanks for the chance to win.
Sorry you were sick. There are so many nasty flu-like bugs going around in Ohio. Take care of yourself and get plenty of rest. I go to blogs for friendship and inspiration. I love to see what you and the rest of my blog friends are working on. Thanks for the LOVELY giveaway!
I love quick and simple projects that are easy enough for a near-beginner, but don't necessarily LOOK like they were all that easy-and-simple. ๐ Happy New Year!
I would love tips on paper piecing, appliquรฉ and reverse appliquรฉ techniques… lots and lots of pictures of pretty fabrics in yummy colors are enough to make me happy
Hi! I just found your blog recently and enjoy your posts. I'm new to quilting so I am learning from anything I read on the subject. I do have a question. Do you foresee any problems with making a quilt using corduroy squares mixed in with lightweight cotton upholstery fabric?<br />Have a great evening!
Thanks for the opportunity! I think I need less in the blogging world ๐ Or more willpower to walk away from looking at the beautiful pictures of what everyone else is creating so that I can make something myself!
I love how impromptu quilts alongs are featured that are no pressure and fun. I also love a good tutorial and when a quilter shows the entire process of quilting including how they picked the colors/prints.
More information and tips on free motion quilting would be awesome. I have moved away from quilting because I get so frustrated that I can't do it beautifully like all yours and other awesome quilters. <br /><br />Thanks for everything you do share!
Snowflakes… I haven't seen a single one yet this winter – all we've had is rain. Nevermind. Well, I would love to see more linen in the quilting world and in a variety of projects. I adore it! Fab giveaway – amycav at hotmail dot com
I would really like to see tips and techniques on machine quilting using your home sewing machine. It's such a pain pushing a large quilt through a small opening.<br />Happy New Year!
I would like to see more video tutorials. Sometimes it is hard to follow written tutorials and video can really liven things up. Thanks for the giveaway. It's very generous of you!
I love using charm packs and jelly rolls so anything using them would be appreciated. QAL's would be fun and some projects for new babies as I have quite a few friends who are having them this year.
I know there are a lot of tutorials using color/value- but I want more! I absolutely love value-based and color-based inspiration!<br />They are my favorite.<br />
I'm always on the lookout for fast and easy quilts that I can whip up as presents so I'd love to see some tutorials or small projects. Thanks for the giveaway!
I would like to see some mini video directions! Sometimes it's hard for me to picture the process and some motion would give me a little more idea of what I should be doing! Thank you for the giveaway and have a wonderful New Year!
I like well written tutorials. Not on your blog, but sometimes I have a hard time following the instructions because they seem to leave out crucial details.
Hi, Amy! So sorry to hear you were sick, but hope you will be back to 100% soon. Although I love your blogs and find the photos to be excellent, have you every considered offering short instructional videos? They are fairly cheap to produce and would be a great way to demo specific techniques. Feel better soon and Happy New Year to the whole family!<br /><br />Susan Rink<br />srink100@yahoo.com
I value anything I read in blogs especially tips & tricks. I would like to see more on quilting with your domestic machine. <br />Thanks so much for a chance at the give-away!<br />mgw070 at shaw dot ca
I'm always a fan of any tutorial that helps use up scraps; quilts, pouches, placemats, whatever, so long as my carefully saved leftover bits can be put to good purpose.
Thank you for such a nice giveaway! What I'd like to see in the blogging world for 2013 are smaller projects featuring modern design and the use of pre-cut fabrics. ๐
I get super excited when I see a tutorial on how to do things easier. It's also great to see small little projects. Thanks for the give away!<br />sixmantzs@sbcglobal.net
I would like to see some fast and unique ideas. Whether they are quilts, crafts or gifts that can be made. Basically new, fresh ideas. Thank you for the giveaway ๐
Thank you for such a wonderful giveaway! Oh, how I'd love to win! I would love to see more quick little projects, I especially love combining embroidery with quilting. Be especially blessed!
I'd love to see tutorials on short cuts to cutting fabrics for projects. Sometimes I get really slowed down in the cutting and I am bit hesitant to try new ways! <br />Thanks for such a wonderful giveaway, very generous!<br />therese.aiken@gmail.com
Thanks for offering the giveaway! Things I'd like to grow in this year, and so things I'll be looking around for on blogs are: small hand-sewing projects, embroidering words onto quilts, and tips or examples of quilting using a regular sewing machine and walking foot.
Thanks for asking everyone for suggestions. What a great way to begin the new year! I too would like to see projects made with precuts as well as quick and easy gift projects as well. Money is tight, so making presents that are cute are a must!<br /><br />Love your photo of the lights in downtown Salt Lake..so pretty!
I'd love to see more tutorials on machine quilting on a regular sewing machine and how to adjust the tension so the back isn't all loopy! (Can you tell what I have problems with? :))<br /><br />Hope you are all over the sickies! We have a head cold/sinus mess going around work right now & I have caught it, tho almost over it now! <br /><br />Thanks for the fin give away!<br />Sandy A
I'm satisfied with how things are. I am always grateful to see tutorials and pictures as I am a fairly new quilter. Thanks for the giveaway but I think you deserve something for all the time devoted to your wonderful blog. Thank you so much for such enjoyment.
Hi Amy, I'm with the others who have asked for more tutorials for small gift items. I'd also love to see more projects for hand-stutchers/piecers/quilters. I love hand-stitchable take-along projects for when my quilt buddies and I get together for a stitch and chat. Looking forward to a great 2013.
I would like to see anything someone is willing to share. I love being about to share my own sewing/quilting projects and like to see others to add to my inspiration.
I can't think of anything more than what's already out there. I would like to see more BOM's than QAL's, but since I've already found two I think I am good to go! What beautiful lights!
I would have to say that tutorials are one of the best things about blogs. I enjoy seeing how other people do their quilts. I've gotten so many helpful hints that way. Thanks for the chance to win. I really enjoy your blog.
I always like to see pretty girly quilts. I also like it when the bloggers are able to tell me what the fabric is called so I can get me hands on some ๐
I would like a bit more help re: putting colors together. This is difficult for me so I tend to follow previous pictures instead of striking out on my own.
I'd like to see more tutorials for wall hangings or smaller projects that are good for gifts or quilts that can be done quickly ๐ I have a bare wall in my sewing room and would like to make some small quilts to display on it. Thanks for the chance to win.
I would love to win the inspiring book!, Fabric is ALWAYS welcome, as well:). I haven't done a Quilt-a-Long yet and would like to try one with a trusted leader. I also would like to know about color choices
I don't know that there's something I'm not seeing that I do want to see from quilt bloggers. I love getting lost in the beautiful photographs (love yours) and dreaming about fabrics I see (since there really isn't much room for them in my stash). Maybe what I'd like to see is effective ways to use stash in more quilts (I see lots of ideas for using stash in other sewing
I would like to see projects that could be done in a couple hours to make as gifts! I love quilts to make always. Happy New Years! Thanks for the wonderful giveaway!
How about more give aways? ๐ Just kidding! A quilt-a-long would be nice. I just finished Bonnie Hunter's Easy Street – well, okay the quilt isn't actually finished just yet, but hopefully in a few days. I always like your tutorials, too – especially for quick and easy projects. Thanks for the chance to win!
Beautiful lights!!<br />I'd be happy seeing a bit more ideas/help/suggestions for quilting (the actual quilting part – free-motion, using my walking foot, etc.)<br />Thanks for the giveaway. I've enjoyed following along with your blog.
I love seeing mini quilts that teach something along with them. Read: a tutorial for cathedral windows built in with a 36×36-ish quilt that I can be proud of :)<br /><br />Thanks for this giveaway!
I am partial to the smaller, mini quilts that can be made out of scraps and go together quickly and can be displayed in a multitude of places…….<br />Tutorials are always helpful also.<br />Happy New Year to you and your family.<br /><br />
I am always interested in tutorials & patterns. These are very helpful to me.<br />I am also interested in projects (large or small) that use fabric scraps.<br />Thanks for the chance to win!!<br /><br />wigglypup2(at)yahoo(dot)com
It seems like I have the hardest time finding just the right project for a fat quarter bundle – seems funny, doesn't it? But I usually end up petting them for ages before I find a good fat-quarter friendly design. So I'd like to see more of those!<br /><br />Thanks for the chance to win!!
Amy – I absolutely LOVE your blog! I am a new quilter and have always been intimidated by quilting. Your blog has helped me SO much ๐ Your tutorials are clear and well-documented, giving ME the confidence to go forth and try new things… AND end up with a nice finished product as well. I vote for your fantastic tutorials – though I will totally enjoy whatever you do, I am sure of it!
I'd love to see more tutorials for quilts and smaller sewn items using precuts or scraps. Oh, the more pictures the better. Thanks so much for the giveaway. ;-> Toni Anne
I love to see tutorials. Especially tutorials that make scary (aka traditional) blocks seem easier. As a relatively new quilter, I would love to try to make some traditional blocks, but they always seem so difficult. Thanks for the great giveaway! Esther (lenahan at zoomtown dot com)
I would like to know more basic how tos for finishing a quilt. Specifically top stitching with a basic machine. I love your blog. Thanks for the giveaway and I want a gourmet waffle truck!!
I can't think of anything I'd like to see that isn't already out there. You have a lovely blog, thank you for the work you have put into the tutorials that you make available ๐ Reading the comments on this topic has been interesting ๐
Love podcasts that are quilting related and would like to see more of them. ( or listen to more of them) tha ks for the chance to win! Love your photos and your lovely quilts.
The quilt blog-world is already so rich and generous i really can't think of a general improvement. I love your blog for the pictures, tutorials, and quilt info. I wish you continued inspiration in 2013!!
I love reading your blog and I always feel happy when I see you've posted something new through bloglovin'. It's very kind of you to hold such a giveaway, thanks!
I would like to see more paper pieced projects. It's not something you see a lot of. I also like many of your tutorials, as they're cute and easy.
Love to see more projects focused on using pre-cuts. Oh and paper piecing. I always love seeing more paper piecing around blogland! <br /><br />Happy new year to you and thanks for the giveaway!<br />

I would like to see more smaller projects other than tote bags and aprons. Things that are fun and fast. Perhaps even an easy pattern that we could all follow a few times a year using our own fabric choices and posting up photos of each of our unique choices.
I never get enough tutorials! I am a confident beginner quilter who loves the tutorials by all those talented quilters outh there! awolk at rogers dot com
More giveaways! ha ha. Really I'd love to see more patterns using jelly rolls. I just don't know what to do with those things. Thanks for the chance!
Love your gifts for the giveaway! I would love to see more tiny projects. Every so often I like to do a project that I can complete in an evening and send off to a friend the next day.<br />Thanks for your inspiring blog!<br />Kami<br />
I would say a some posts on where to start if you are just starting into quilting. I am just starting and most of what I have found around the quilting blogsphere is (for the most part) for those who have been quilting for a while. That would be a huge help for me!! Thank you for a chance to give ideas and to win such wonderful prizes!! ๐ Hope you have a wonderful day!!
Oh I am would love to win a copy! I hinted, but Santa had other ideas. LOL I love the little tutorials you see in blog land, but I'd like to see more than just pillows and placemats… how about some quilted gifts for a spa day? or a little pampering. I love making gifts, but I've done bags, aprons, placemats and need some new ideas. ๐ Thank you so much for the great giveaway!!
What fantastic pictures! I loved the night lights, but I'm sorry you were not feeling great. With four little ones underfoot during the day, my sewing and quilting time is limited to weekends and evenings. I would love to see simple, beautiful, and quick quilts or even some ideas to use all those wonderful excess scraps from previous quilts. Thank you for sponsoring such a generous and
I would love to see more of your awesome tutorials! In fact, I came on here to use one when I was pleasantly distracted by this post ๐ grandoldaubrie at gmaildotcom
I'd love to see more tutorials and ideas on quilting itself. My goal is to tackle FMQ this year and I'd love some tips. I also want to get more creative with my straight line quilting and need some inspiration.
I'm still a newbie quilter ~ pieced my first small quilt top, but have yet to finish it! I love seeing the smaller quilts geared for beginners. thanks so much for the chance to win ~ fingers crossed!
More precut tutorials for quilts.. like charm packs, and lyer cakes.. I buy them on occassion, and when I do I am always scrambling to find a way to use it in a quilt instead of the regular old square.
Your blog was one of the firsts I came across when I started quilting three years ago, Amy. Thank you for all that you share. Your tutorials and writing are easy to follow as well as relaxing and encouraging. You are an inspiration. In the coming year I look forward to more of the same as well as the "keeping it real" stuff.
I would like to see some more bloggers sign up to do the scrappy trip-around-the-world quilt. Hahaha, just kidding!!! (Although it is quite a lovely quilt, I understand why so many have been bitten by the bug!). I love to see some pretty photos, learn about upcoming fabric lines, and always am interested in new tutorials for some new-to-me techniques. Happy new year!
I like seeing "quilts in action:" quilts on the beds they were made for, or covering the children who snuggle in them. A hotpad next to a boiling pot of pasta, etc. But not necessarily staged. "Everyday" photos. Sometimes it seems that quilts are made in this surreal environment but really, they exist in the everyday. ๐
I love your blog and love to see what you're making next! I think you do a great job already with the tutorials but I guess it would be more tuts using the pre-cuts. Thanks for such a generous giveaway!
Wow! Thanks for the chance… if I could see one thing it would have to be a magical machine that tells me what to do with my beautiful fabric… I'm soooo indecisive!
I'd love to see more single afternoon, projects. There are some times when I love to see a tutorial on a block that can come together to form a full quilt top in 4-6 hours.
Happy 2013! Thank you for a wonderful blog full of inspiration and beautiful creations. I enjoy all your projects, but would love to start adding hand embellishments/embroidery in quilts or possibly crazy quilting projects? Thanks for a chance to win the book and fabric…the book is on my wish list!
I love seeing what people are making, in the planning, making, AND finished stages. If we can't show off on our blogs, where can we? Hee hee!<br />Chelsea<br />chickenflag@hotmail.com
I have been going through my stash and I think I need some quilts with novelty fabrics. I seem to have quite a few and I don't know what to do with all of them. I'm in Utah as well and the shoveling has been intense, it's good to get the moisture though!
Love to learn anything about quilting or sewing. Have sewn for a long time but there are always new and different ways of doing things, or new patterns or color combos. Thanks for the giveaway!
I just love seeing finished quilts . . . lots of beautiful inspiration. Thanks for all the inspiration you send out . . . I actually enjoy all of your non-quilt stuff too . . . I love how you keep it real ๐ Thanks for the chance.

At the risk of sounding boring, I would like more of the same. I love your (and other bloggers')balance of fabric love, tutorials, in-process posts, completions, gifts made and given, quilt bee creations, personal posts, etc. I get great ideas and inspiration from all of them!<br />Karen<br />krseitz@earthlink.net
I'd really enjoy seeing quick holiday gift ideas (and not just Christmas) using needle and thread. I love quilts that include a bit if embroidery and would love some new ideas. And it would be interesting to get a behind-the-scenes look into your creative brain as you work out a new idea. Can't wait to see what's in store!
I love to read your blog. You have such inspiration. I really enjoy seeing small and quick projects. I also love the quilt-a-longs because it breaks it down into smaller steps that I can get done when I only have snippets of time available. Hope you get well soon. Thanks! Jana
I don't buy much of anything new, so I'd like to see how to match colors/patterns/fabrics, or cut fabrics I have in my stash which are odd sizes. I'm still a beginner and I started with someone else's stash!
I've been a big fan since I came across your quilting tutorials ; ) I love your blog! I'd love to see a how-to make baby booties. (If I could suggest the Sakura pack) My daughter's middle name is Sakura hehehe. Yasuko H. hanami.love@yahoo.com<br />
I would like to see more big blocks to make big quilts (queen/king size). More tutorials on quilting your own quilts using a home sewing machine would be cool too! Thanks for the chance to win!
I'd love to see more tutorial of course (cuz they are just so amazing), and maybe some more fabric swaps and Quilting Bees and random themed swaps! I love love love swaps! <br />Thanks for the chance to win!
I would really like to see ideas for jelly rolls (since the craft/fabric stores where I live seem to have an ABUNDANCE of these), as well as free motion quilting ideas. I don't always have access to a long-arm, so things I can do on my little janome are always of interest.
I would like to see tutorials or projects for small projects, like the zippered pouches last year also maybe something a little more advanced or intermediate quilt projects for quilters wanting to challenge themselves. Thanks for the giveaway ๐
Honestly, I would love to see anything. I have been out of the crafting world for a good 10 years and just starting to pick everything back up again. I enjoy tutorials and learning anything I can.
Pretty snow!! I keep hoping for snow here but we haven't had any yet. ๐ <br /><br />I always love looking at quilt photos. They get me inspired to pull out my own work!
Precut quickie quilts and I love to see color/pattern pairing options as well as new gadgets to make quilting easier. I could also use some help with patterns.<br />shel704 at aol dot com

What a lovely & generous giveaway – thanks ๐ I'd like to see more sharing of where everyone buys their beautiful fabrics, especially here in the UK, and in particular, the pre-cuts. LOVE jelly rolls & charm packs – they add to the fun of making quilts!<br />Xx
Wow, that's a nice way to start into the new year, thanks for die giveaway!<br /><br />I am one of the newbies, just handpieced one pillowcase and am still working on my first top (colour wheel), but I really adore all the colourful quilts.<br />I am not sure what I want to see more.. tutorials are always great, I love bolder graphic designs with a lot of white and contrasts. Also, I am
Hello Amy! I have to say that I simply love your blog!! ๐ I'm checking it every day to see if you add some new post. I wouldn't change much on it – maybe just some more sewing, sewing, sewing! And from time to time some tutorial would be graet ๐ Sending greetings from Europe and wishing all the best, Mรญลกa (Misha.Klocova@seznam.cz)

I would love to see more tips for time management…..You know the ones…that help you find time for more sewing and less housework and other obligations.<br />sowingstitches[at]gmail[dot]com
Whilst I like quilt alongs and stuff, I really don't have time to do them all even though I would love to. So this year I'd like to see more in the way of tips and tricks rather than full blown projects. I've learned a lot from Sarah Fielke's class on Craftsy already for tricks in applique and learning step down piecing and such and it's really been an eyeopener and got me
If I see anymore my eyes are going to pop up of my head right as it explodes! But I love all the beautiful quilts, the great tutorials, the small projects. I am constantly amazed at the new ideas. I guess I would love to see a little more traditional work…I miss the old blocks and the hand work. Thanks for the chance to win.
Amy I would love to see lots more tutorials in blogdom land. Especially some ofthose on paper pieceing and hexagon projects. Love your blog. Your winter pictures are awesome by the way. Thank youf or a chance to enter your giveaway.<br />conn_and_vans_mom(at)yahoo(dot)com
The photos of the lights are just stunning. I'm sure they are more impressive in person. So sorry that you were sick during the holidays but that seems to happen to a lot of people…to much going on and not enough rest are sure ways to get sick. glad you are feeling better.<br /><br />The quilt blog world is pretty amazing already but I'd love to see more posts comparing products of
I would love to see a basic tutorial on how to make a landscape Wall hanging. I really like art quilts but am afraid to start without a little guidance.<br />thelady(at)hotmail.com
Happy New Year! I am glad you are well once again – it's no fun to be sick over the holidays. I would love to see more tutorials on machine quilting with a normal home machine as well as some perky fun smaller projects that make great gifts. Thank you for all the great blogs! :0)
I would love to see some more small projects that would be easy to create quickly for those oops moments when you realise that you should have posted a gift last week.<br />And any tips and techniques that you discover during the year would be very appreciated.
Happy new year Amy! I love reading your blog and your quilts are always inspiring. I would love to see more behind the scene of your quilting process. How do you design your quilts? Draw them out on paper or computer? Fabric selection? Quilt stores verses big box stores or online stores to purchase fabric? Tutorials are always fun too. ๐
I love all the pictures you post. Being a teacher I of course love words, but am a little over words when I sit down to relax and catch up on my quilt blogs. I can always count on your blog having the right amount of pictures and words. And your pictures are uplifting to a tired, working mom. Thanks for all you do!
Not sure my post went through. Easy and fun tutorials and QAL. I made my first quilt with guidance from your website. I hope to win! Thanks for all of your posts and look forward to what you have in store for us this 2013!
I am determined to get more gifts made this year, and made early…not at the last minute ๐ So project ideas and tutorials I am looking for this year. Thanks for a great giveaway.
My biggest challenge is knowing how many and what types of patterns to put together. I'd love to learn more about that.<br /><br />gnlenhardt@juno.com
I'd like to see more giving back to others(thinking of myself for sure!). There's so much talent in this blogging community, and hand mades are a great way to show someone love and compassion. I don't think there can ever be too much of that to go around.
I would like to see quilt bloggers sharing more about their daily lives…are things going good, bad, does someone need encouraging words and support from their blogging friends. I would like to the quilt blogging community draw closer together as friends…times are hard, jobs are scarce, life is scarey out there and alot of people are living day to day with enormous amounts of anxiety and
I love a good tutorial, but more than that I love to see how people have used their fabric. Finished projects always inspire me. And, I really hope I win. I wanted this book for Christmas, but didn't get it. Guess I was on the naughty list.
I love to see tutorials for fun new quilt tops- but I have to admit that what I would really like is to see more tips, tricks, helpful hints, and designs for actual (regular) machine quilting. I have been sewing for years and can piece the quilts just fine, but then they sit because I get nervous I'm going to ruin my hard piecing work by quilting them myself. Yet paying someone else to long
I have such a hard time picking fabrics! I would love to read more about how you choose! Thanks for the giveaway :)<br /><br />correne (underscore) johnson (at) yahoo (dot) com
Who doesn't enjoy tutorials, but your photography is always so nice that I enjoy whatever you post. Charm packs and a pattern book would be a great way to start the year. Thank you for the chance.
I left a comment previously, but then realized that it didn't include my email. So this one should have it! I would love to see more machine quilting tips and tutorials so I can finish my quilt tops!
I love finding tutorials for quick gist. Made many, many drawstring pouches and small zipper bags. Now I need something new for my daughter and her friends. Thanks for a great giveaway.
Well, I am just a beginner. I am taking my first piecing class tomorrow! So, I guess, beginner tutorials.<br />Thank you for the chance!<br />sdjg@pacbell.net
First off, I love your blog. It's one of my daily checks. Second, I think more about fabric and design choices would be interesting and helpful. Thanks!
I'd love to see more quick, easy projects for beginners & helpful tips for doing various things (ex. for some reason I have a very hard time cutting long pieces of fabric straight). A simple block of the month or quilt along suitable for beginners would be neat too. Actual quilting tutorials for those of us just learning would be awesome as well….basically any tutorial to help with the
Amy, thank YOU for sharing of your time and talents with us! I've only recently discovered the quilting blog world and have been blessed so much with tutorials, info about fabric stores, pictures of your lovely quilts. As a newbie the only thing I can think of to request is…more of all of the above! txjackson5@gmail.com<br />
I'm a newbie quilter, so I'd like to see more of the basics or tricks of the trade. I get so intimidated, and hesitate to try a lot of the projects because they seem too complicated, while in all reality, they probably aren't! :o)<br /><br />pippirose59 at gmail dot com
Happy New Year Amy! <br />I would love to see more "why" in our bloggy world. <br />Why we do what we do and the steps that go with it! When we know "why", we can be more successful! This will help lots of people learn tips, tricks and the basics. I plan to work on this though my blog. Perhaps "Why on Wednesday"<br />Those who are interested – come visit please.<br />

Funny story! I read your blog post yesterday and clicked to comment, I was so excited that I was the first one to do so! Then, I got distracted and didn't get back to it all day. So here I am, 341 to comment! I truely love your blog, I have learned so much from it. What you do, and I'd love to see more, is keep things simple and useful. Thanks! donna@nmdc.net

I would like to see more tutorials. All of my 2012 quilts were made based off of tuts on blogs, and I'd love to see something fresh to try! =) stacy.hadwin@gmail.com
I would love some more complex project tutorials that would stretch my skill set! (I'm thinking paper piecing, etc.) I know tutorials are so time consuming to write, so I really do appreciate all that you do! This is one of my favorite blogs!<br /><br />ericanimri at gmail dot com
So sweet of you! Um… I would love more tutorials on making different kinds of quilt blocks. I am stuck on square-squares because I have no idea where to go from there. Easy, pretty pieced blocks.
I'm such a quilting newbie, I've made two tops but haven't had the time to put them all together yet. I'd love to see more beginner tutorials, and a quilt-a-long! <br /><br />
I'd love to see patterns that show which was to press pieces so block to block assembly is better. I take classes at a wonderful shop in San Antonio, Texas, and she always has these on her patterns. I thought this was the norm, but as I follow other patterns I have to change which direction I pressed something to make two seams nest better.
I'm so new to following blogs, but I would have to add my vote to others who have mentioned tutorials on piecing and ideas for quilts. I would love to see some ideas for guy quilts as I want to make a throw quilt for my nephew who is graduating from High School this year, something he can take to college with him. I also have a daughter getting married. What have people done for marriage
I love tutorials as well! Something else I love is talking about fabric. It's something I want to do more of on my blog, but the real fun is reading others' opinions (even on the things they don't like!).
I would would like to see more ideas for gifts and small projects to make in blogs this year. I love seeing pics of everyone's finished quilts and projects. Thanks for the chance to win.
I just stumbled on your blog this morning via a photo on Pinterest, and I've spent the morning learning about you and your family! I love everything on your blog! I may have to scrap all my quilting plans for the year and just concentrate on your tutorials! Keep the great ideas coming! ๐ Thanks for the chance to win, too!
I would like to see more tutorials and more ideas on quilting. Machine quilting, how to pick colors…Anything new…and love your blog. Thanks for the chance to win. May the New Year be good to everyone.
I'd love to see more bees and quilt-alongs! I'm looking for new ways to share my love of quilting/crafting with everyone in the blogosphere. Thanks for the chance!
what I search for the most are tips and ideas – I am self-taught (like most nowadays) and when I try something new like paper piecing, I start searching and reading for tips. I have never done anything scrappy or improve, I think that this year I will be trying improve…still holding off on scrappy…..
Thank you for the give away. Happy New Year. Tutorials on gifts, bags to give my friends for birthdays are great. Also techniques and shortcuts for piecing.
Scrappy, scrappy, scrappy! More scrappy goodness!<br />While I appreciate the beauty of quilts made with a single line of fabric, I think quilts that use a multitude of scraps are eye-candy interesting and definitely more challenging! I'd like to see more scrappy inspiration!
Love to see more patterns and step by step tutorials. I just started quilting and use your blog as my primary resource. Thanks! jenmac75 (at) yahoo (dot) com
I would love to see some quick make tutorials like small throw blankets, pillows, bags and anything child related. I look forward to a new year with you. jmichaelpike@aol.com
I love seeing all the different quilt patterns that people create- I make bed sized quilts so it is great to see new designs. Thanks for sharing your talent and creativity. Moda Bake shop is a great place for new ideas.<br />Thanks for the chance to win this lovely book and charm packs.<br />Regards from Western Canada,<br />Anna
I'd love to see some tutorials for sewing machine tips. I am a beginner, and even though the quilts may not be super complicated, I have a hard time choosing tension, picking a stitch length, and troubleshooting while using my machine ๐
I love the open sharing of tutorials and patterns in the quilt blog world. I am so impressed with the thought and effort that goes into them and the "do whatever you want with this" attitude of many of the bloggers. I enjoy seeing the completed photos by happy readers. So my hope is for continued openness and sharing of creativity in blog world.
Hope you're feeling much better after the bug, we've had one hear and I'm still feeling pretty lousy but have managed some sewing! I'd love to see more showing of mistakes and failures, I'm not good at doing it myself but think it's really useful!
I'm a budding quilter with a penchant for classic fabrics. I'd love to be a part of a quilt along/sew along for beginners! I've always wanted to try one to help keep me motivated. I'd also like to see more hand quilting techniques and designs/fabrics that celebrate the BOY!<br /><br />Thanks!

I would love to see a couple of paper piecing tutorials. <br />I bought a kit a few years ago of houses decorated for Christmas, not realizing it was paper piecing. No idea how to do it.<br /><br />Thanks for offering this giveaway!
I would love to hear more about what types of machines and tools quilters and bloggers use. It seems like a given for those who have been at it awhile but for newer quilters and those looking for a new fresh pep in their step, its good to knwo what new machines folks are loving at all price points, what rulers do you use the most, what are your go-to tools, what are you favorite threads, etc.
I would like to see tutorials/books for the very beginning quilter. I have been quilting for years but when I talk to want-to-be or beginning quilters, they often say they could never learn to quilt or do a more advanced project.
I have a few baby quilts to do so I would love the inspiration. Thanks and I am glad you enjoyed the holidays (except the bug…yuck) -Nancy (blackie_85(at)hotmail(dot)com

Love your tutorials, especially for the easier quilts, since I am a beginner. Most of all, enjoy your beautiful photos and commentary — thank you so much for sharing your creativity with us!

I have been a quilter for a few years, so I am always looking for new ways to use scraps from previous projects, so quilts as well as other "crafty" ways to use up those scraps. The ultimate recycling! Love your blog!
I'm a beginner quilter, but I would love to see more ideas on what I can do with all of my fabric scraps. I'm a bit of a packrat, so I keep aaall of them. ๐ <br /><br />You can reach me at: natalie.gr.thomas@gmail.com
It looks like a lot of others are saying the same, but I'm a sucker for tutorials. Even if I know how to do something, I love to see how others do it. I've been quilting for over 20 years, but I still find new ideas and techniques on people's blogs! Thanks for the chance!
I love all the inspiration out there from patterns to tutorials to just sharing what it inspiring you at the moment. This is a great giveaway. Thank you.

I would love to see more ideas for small projects that finish up quickly. I love to sew but my time is limited with working full time. I'm looking for non complicated new quilt blocks to make on a monthly basis. So tutorials are awesome or how to use new designer fabrics with a quilt block -corresponding patterns and colors and such. Some of the more moderns or vibrant fabrics can be intimidating to work with ๐
I love all the inspiration blogs like yours give those of us who are just starting out – especially when you mention how it occasionally all goes wrong! Makes me feel so much better when I mess up.
Thank you for the chance to win.<br />I would love more patterns/ tutes using layer cakes.<br />Loved your white Christmas pics, the church looks magnificent!!!
Hi Amy, love your blog. I would love to hear one day how you got started blogging about quilting… tutorials are always awesome. Hi Amy. I like reading your blog and like to learn about small projects you make or what tools or tips you have to make quilting/sewing easier. I emailed you a long time ago about what kind of spool holder you use to hold your cone shaped spools of thread. I also like your little slices of life thrown in too. Keep up the great work!
I feel your pain. I have had a bug that has made me feel yucky too. Maybe it is something going around in Utah? I wanted to get up to Temple Square when my folks were here from California. Alas too much to do and not enough time to do it. Plus my dad hates driving in the snow so we didn't get far from home! I also vote for FMQ tutorials. I am a straight line quilter only and would love to try
I just decided the beginning of the year that I was going to attempt to make my first quilt and I just this week became a facebook follower to your page- Jen<br />jdnhorrell@yahoo.com
I'd love to see more teenage boy quilts. I have a boy who's in that tween stage and would love to make him a more mature quilt than the Disney character one I made him the last time.

I want to see more basic stuff. Honestly, the best of your blog is sharing your love of quilting and family-it's so inspiring! I would ask for continued motivation and beautiful pictures!
It's silly, but I love to see all the WIPS's become beautiful finished quilts. Since I always seem to have way more WIPs than any reasonable person should, it's nice to see others actually get one completed. And inspiring – great color combinations always get my mind working on yet another quilt…hence the insane amount of WIPs!<br /><br />whitnerkane@gmail.com

Howdy and happy new year! Tutorials and gifts ideas are great, but maybe do a session on line. There are so many meeting places on line where we could all meet up and watch. Happy New year to you and yours.<br /><br />I would love to see precuts used in the context of modern quilts, whatever that means. hooray!!!! a great book, maybe I'll get lucky??? Glad your feeling better. I have been a little down. My husband has made his e-mail private and is talking to an ex….lucky me….guess I better find a boyfriend??<br />vickie.van@hotmail.com
I like quilting tutorials. In the quilt-blog-world during the next year, I would like to see more tutorials on hand piecing and hand quilting (NOT big stitch, just plain old hand quilting in a lap hoop). I would also like to see a tutorial on making a crazy quilt (without bling and dingle-dangle stuff that makes a quilt uncomfortable for use). Guess that I feel rather retro at the moment. Thanks
i cannot think of what MORE I would like to see but I can say I really enjoy sew alongs. I would love an opportunity to jump in on a bee so maybe that would be nice. I have followed your blog since I started sewing and I absolutly love it! Keep up with what you are doing and thank you for this awesome give-a-way! Hope I win!<br /><br />
I'd just love to see more tutorials or idea for modern blocks. not necessarily whole quilts but cute blocks that can be mixed around or combined together.<br />jennlindsay1(at)gmail(dot)com
I'm a fairly new quilter and can handle the squares and rectangles. Would love to see some tutorials on triangles and how to make those crazy seams match up. Love your stuff. Have been following you for about a year.
Hope my entry isn't too late. More paper piecing quilts and now I've found them quilt along BOMs.<br /><br />Thanks for the opportunity of winning such great goodies. Happy New Year
You are awesome– we should all be thanking YOU!!! And, uh….. that's A LOT of snow! Would be a culture shock to this So Cal girl. I would love to see *more of the same* in quilters blog world. I LOVE your posts….. I love seeing what/how people sew. I love new patterns and tutorials….. just more of the same, please!<br />Happy New Year!<br />~Robin<br />welchrobin@hotmail.com
I haven't made a quilt yet so basic tricks would be awesome as 2013 is the year I want to make one! Also I always like fast projects so I don't get bored ๐ Thanks!

January 3, 2013 at 4:59 pmI always love tutorials, and suggestions for gifts to be made! I realized recently (with the excitement over the "many trips around the world" quilt) that it is SO much fun to see different quilters' interpretations of pieced quilts. I cannot think of how to implement that, however, unless you do a quilt along. I have participated in only one — and liked the quilt so much that I

January 5, 2013 at 8:38 amI visit 20 or so blogs a week and yours is on the list. I love to see pictures of your projects – I can't get enough, I'm a very visual person. I would like to see some wall hanging size quilts, as I have some ugly walls in my sewing room that need something beautiful. Thanks for the awesome give away!

January 5, 2013 at 9:34 amIt's silly, but I love to see all the WIPS's become beautiful finished quilts. Since I always seem to have way more WIPs than any reasonable person should, it's nice to see others actually get one completed. And inspiring – great color combinations always get my mind working on yet another quilt…hence the insane amount of WIPs!<br /><br />whitnerkane@gmail.com

There are so many meeting places on line where we could all meet up and watch. There are chats where people can ask questions as your performing the tutorial on line. You can have mini sessions on line once a week in the evenings would be better for me, you can record them and post them on your

January 6, 2013 at 5:45 pmI like quilting tutorials. Thanks
