I don't know if it was the best, but it is my favorite. A friend and coworker gave me a little crocheted chicken a number of years ago. Inside the body is a plastic Easter egg that hold the body shape and hides the egg. I love it and it sits in my sewing room where I can see it all the time.

Receiving handmade ornaments from my sister &amp; putting them on the tree &amp; remembering when they were received. Timing is perfect for a new sewing machine, mine is in for repairs (a knocking noise), scary situation for a quilter!!!

I received a crazy pieced carpenters apron from a new friend for my birthday in September. At the end of the month I broke my leg–handiest gift I ever received–could carry my coffee mug, craft projects, and miscellaneous items in the pockets and still use crutches.

My friend made my daughters&#39; blessing dress. It&#39;s gorgeous and exactly what I wanted (and completely unlike any you can buy–it&#39;s ankle length) We&#39;ve blessed both of our daughters in it, and it reminds me how much I&#39;m loved by others, which I think is sometimes hard.

Years ago, before quilting was ever on my radar, a dear friend made a Christmas quilt for me. I&#39;ve always loved it, but all the more so now that I can appreciate all that went in to it.

I have received irreplaceable and beautiful projects from my two daughters but the funniest was when they chose the same &quot;you print a personalized card&quot; from the store. Not exactly handmade, but a very funny coincidence. I guess of the handmade things, it would have to be their artwork. Magistra13 at yahoo dot com<br />Beth

When I was younger my Grandmother knit a blanket for me. It had three owls with google eyes sitting on a branch, and she made me a matching sweater vest for my birthday (in January). I still adore it to this day.

The best handmade gift I have ever received was a quilt my great, great grandmother had hand quilted before she passed. I still sleep with it and use it during the winter. It is so vintage in terms of patterns and style, but I absolutely love it!

The best handmade gift I have received is a lovely knitted blanket (actually it was technically for my baby daughter). The yarn is a lovely shimmery blue and the blanket is soft, heavy, and so cozy. I don&#39;t knit so it was a lovely gift for us.

My favourite hand-made gift wasn&#39;t really a gift, per se. My grandmother helped me (read: did most of the work) make an outfit for my American girl doll when I was little. I love the outfit and I loved getting to spend the time with her.
