Holy smokes. I seriously can’t believe it’s the week of Thanksgiving here in the US. Because that means Christmas is tomorrow. Or almost. Whoa! With that wake-up call, who else is looking for Handmade Gift ideas? Well Sew Mama Sew can hook you up. Every day for the past month they have had round-ups with links to different hand made gift tutorials and patterns in a huge variety of categories.
Today I’m sharing a list of gifts made from using scraps. We all accumulate scraps and finding pretty and awesome ways to use them has become one of my life’s missions. And since you’re using something you already have on hand, it’s like making free presents! You can see the post with my list of suggestions here on the Sew Mama Sew blog.
I’m also feeling happy because I got three quilt tops off to the quilter this week. For some reason I’ve had an abundance of quilt tops waiting for me to get my act together and choose/piece a back. I’m hoping to get one of them bound and share it by next week. Others are for Christmas.
Also, I finished prepping my yard for the winter – so I’m looking forward to sewing this week with no yard guilt hanging over my head! I’m also trying to enjoy these last quasi-warm, fallish days before they’re gone.
Have any other links to great handmade gifts made with fabric scraps? Leave them in the comments!

Hello, great ideas. I’ve been making gift tags with my scraps. https://grannysbuttonbox.blogspot.co.uk/ I hate wasting lovely fabric scraps, always looking for good ideas to use them up. Thanks Sharon x

The idea of a Ticker Tape has been growing on me. I think it would be darling to make one of the Christmas scraps, or perhaps blues and greys to have out over the winter. So cheerful for a quilter to see evidence of process and color!
