Lots of exciting things going on for long-time sponsor, Jackie Kunkel of Canton Village Quilt Works. Jackie has been a quilter since 1993 and a long arm quilter for 15 years. Jackie is also a designer for Quilt Magazine, a podcaster and a sought-after certified Judy Nieymeyer instructor. You can follow Jackie’s quilting adventures on her blog, Canton Village Quilt Works as well as on itunes, YouTube, and Facebook.
She has owned and operated Canton Village Quilt Works for the past 6 years where she specializes in carrying batiks, batiks, prints and solids with collections from the likes of Kaffe Fassett, Timeless Treasures, and Robert Kaufman. She also carries a fabulous variety of Kona Solids as well as a supply of pre-cuts – including charm-packs and jelly-rolls – and bundles, including their own custom bundles. Also be sure to check out her extensive collection of black and white prints and the variety of gorgeous quilt kits available.
And in some big news, CVQW is moving to Arizona in 2016! As a result they are liquidating their inventory at great prices. Beginning Sunday, December 6 CVQW will have the entire store on sale. EVERYTHING (except classes) will be discounted by 15%. (You can use your loyalty points during this portion of the sale.) On Sunday, Dec 13 the percentage will increase to 20% (loyalty points will no longer count.) On Sunday Dec 20, percentage will increase to 25% off and will continue to increase every Sunday through Jan 10 until all fabric, pre-cuts, ribbons, books, and kit inventory is gone.
Further excitement this year, Jackie just released her first book with Martingale publishers, Splash of Color: A Rainbow of Brilliant Black-and-white Quilts. This book specializes in Jackie’s favorites – pairing black and white prints with saturated rainbow colors.
Here are a few of the quilts from Splash of Color: Dreaming of Pyramids (left) and Jumpin’ Jax. I also love the cover quilt, Hip to be Square. Jackie also shares a wide variety of quilting techniques throughout the book including curves, 60 degree angles, and dresdens as well as help with choosing colors and fabrics. You can buy Splash of Color directly from Jackie (for a signed copy!), Amazon, or from your local fabric shop.
And just for fun, to help you get started on your own black and white quilt, Jackie is giving away a bundle of black and white fat quarters AND a signed copy of Splash of Color! To enter to win subscribe to the CVQW newsletter, follow them on Facebook, or follow Jackie’s blog. Leave a separate comment for each entry. Giveaway open until Wednesday, December 9 at midnight MST.
Don’t forget to checkout the big Canton Village Quilt Works moving sale starting Sunday, December 6!
