I spent last night getting caught-up on my blocks from the Fat Quarter Shop Patchwork Quilt-along. They are the cutest 5″ x 5″ patchwork blocks.
Each month there is a new block pattern available on the 15th + a video for extra help. The patterns are free, but a small donation to the Make A Wish Foundation is suggested. You can read more about the Patchwork Quilt Along here.
I am using the FQS quilt kit featuring Bonnie and Camille’s latest Basics collection. But I’m also throwing in a few blocks made with past B&C collections from my stash, just to mix things up. Also, if you’re following the quilt along yourself, you may see I added a variation to this month’s block. Just because I like to be a rebel sometimes. I put these little blocks on my design wall and they’re already so cute – I think this will be such a fun finish.
I am starting a new pattern/project featuring Lindsay Wilkes’ (aka The Cottage Mama) debut fabric collection for Riley Blake Designs, Dainty Darling. Look at that cheerful, vintage-inspired bundle of goodness. I’m so excited that she asked me to play with her fabrics. I’ll have a project ready to share with you by the end of March. (I’m trying to do a better job of showing you what I’m working on, while it’s still just a pile-in-progress, so that you don’t think I just pull together a quilt/tutorial over night. They’re usually in the works a while behind the scenes before I post about them.)
Dainty Darling is available in shops now including the Fort Worth Fabric Studio and the Fat Quarter Shop.
And speaking of debut fabric collections, guess what I got to put my hands on yesterday afternoon? The very first FQ bundle of my own upcoming collection for Penny Rose/Riley Blake Designs: Gingham Girls. (You can read more about the inspiration for Gingham Girls here.) Talk about a long process behind the scenes. This has been in the works for at least 16 months now, so it was so surreal to hold the actual, finished fabric in my hands. I didn’t get to break it open, but the sample yardage has arrived and I’ll be furiously sewing new quilt samples very soon! I have 4 new patterns to release with this fabric, which starts arriving in shops in April! (Psst – it’s available for pre-order from the Fat Quarter Shop if you want a sneak peak.)
I’ll be sharing more!

February 26, 2017 at 10:00 amAmy How did you make that cute alteration to the Quilt-a-long block? Can you elaborate as I really like that option.

February 26, 2017 at 10:51 amJust rotate the half square triangles so that they point in toward the center square. Easy peasy. 🙂

February 26, 2017 at 7:56 pmI can’t wait until I can order my bundle of Gingham Girls. I love the colors and the design!!! It reminds me of the style of clothes, purses, curtains, and everything else while I was growing up in the seventies!!! You should be very proud of yourself for designing such an awesome collection. You need to keep a bundle put up in a display case for everyone to admire :o)
