I'm excited to introduce a new Americana quilt pattern that I designed. This medallion-style quilt is called Land That I Love.
As mentioned last week, I have released a round of 4 new quilt patterns (both paper and PDF versions) in conjunction with the release of my fabric collection, Gingham Girls from Riley Blake Designs.
I shared a little teaser of this pattern, but here it is in all it's glory.
I have always had a soft spot for traditional Americana and with the summery, red, whites and blues in this collection, I felt it was perfect for an American-flag inspired quilt motif. But I decided to put a little twist on it, adding some traditional patchwork star blocks.
I've always loved the look of medallion-style quilts as well and so it was fun to incorporate that Americana feel into this style of quilt.
It was also really fun to make this quilt in a scrappy variation, showing off all of the latest prints from the Gingham Girls collection.
Land That I Love pattern is available here in both downloadble PDF and paper formats.
Also this week, Elizabeth from Simple Simon and Co featured two of my favorite prints from the line: the bias red plaid (honestly, who can resist a good bias plaid?!) along with the Navy variation of the main print to make this cute springtime Boho top.
This top is so cute - and it looks simple enough that even I could try it. (No inset sleeves!) You can find all the pattern info at the Simple Simon blog. While you're there, check out all of the other amazing tutorials and projects the Simple Simon girls create.
Finally, I have LOVED checking out the #GinghamGirlFriends hashtag on Instagram as so many of you have shared your own family gingham nostalgia. My favorite part was how many of the posts involved clothes handmade by loved ones. It was so sweet. If you're looking for some genuine happiness on a screen, check out that hashtag on Instagram. Adorable.
And speaking of adorable, check out these two cute kiddos. I found these pictures of me (on the left, obvs) and my husband (we are two weeks apart in age) in matching gingham and denim ensembles. How awesome is that? Must be a sign that we were meant to find each other one day. 😉
Happy weekend to you!

Really striking quilt! Love your new line. I remember making a gingham top in junior high and handing it down to my sister, who wore it for picture day the next year☺️
