Finished Gold Tree Skirt

You may remember a couple of months ago I was working on a new tree skirt using Caroline Critchfield’s Tree Skirt video class on Craftsy. I finished the tree skirt a while back and was so excited to put it to use under my tree!

And here’s the full effect. I’m so happy with how this one turned out. AND I really loved making this project!

Caroline’s instructions are super clear and easy to follow. She uses a strip-piecing method perfect for 2 1/2″ precut strips and a quilt-as-you-go technique for quilting the tree-skirt, making the project come together SO quickly and really easy to complete on your home sewing machine.

When I finish some projects, I just want to check them off the list and not make them again, but this project, I would totally make again in a heartbeat.

I used a collection of the Riley Blake Gold Sparkle fabrics (available here, and here) for my tree skirt, with the gold snowflakes on the back side, so that I can reverse it if I want a less-busy look.

It looks so pretty with my gold and red tree. I’m super pleased.

I highly recommendย Caroline’s Quilted Tree Skirt Class. You can find it here, on Craftsy. And I have a coupon for 25% off the class cost*ย making it only $7.50 for a really great pattern with an hour of detailed video step-by-step instruction. (The coupon is already applied in the link and will show up when you click Add to Cart.)

And speaking of gold sparkle – here’s a little sneak peek of another project in the works:

I’ve been using my Destiny II embroidery machine to machine embroider this Merry and Bright design in gold on some of the plaids I bought this year. I think they turned out pretty snazzy. Soon to be made into finished gifts!

More Christmas sewing to come!

The coupon is already applied in the link, but for some reason doesn’t show up until you click Add to Cart. I should clarify that in the post. Thanks for pointing that out!

Your tree skirt came out lovely. Merry Christmas and thank you for the coupon. My mother sewed my tree skirt so there is no way I would replace it. Albeit this would make a great gift to give and someone else to cherish. โค๏ธ๐ŸŽ„โค๏ธ

Hi Amy! Beautiful tree skirt! I am interested in your merry and bright embroidery design. It seems that the link does not work. Can you post another link. I tried looking on Etsy and could not find the one you used. Thank you so much!

Hi Amy, I had no interest in this Craftsy class until I saw your tree skirt. The whites and golds make an elegant looking skirt and are right up my alley. Thank you for the coupon and inspiring blog posts. I’m looking forward to making my tree skirt.

Amy what beautiful work , that tree skirt is beautiful. I spy the same cabinet I got from Target in your living room. I love it and use it anywhere , now it is housing my kitchen goods and is like an extra pantry / coffee station.

I am looking for a tree skirt that is in the shape of a snowflake–6 points instead of 8 or 5. I had one that I purchased several years ago but I cannot find it anymore–I think it may have been thrown away in a storage box with an old artificial tree. Do you have anything like that?

Afraid I’m not familiar with anything like that. Sorry
