Liberty of London fabrics from Duckadilly + Sale

Warning: Please do not drool on your screen. Doesn’t that color just make you mouth start watering? In my opinion, one of the prettiest online fabric shops is sponsor DuckaDilly, purveyor of all things Liberty of London. I don’t know if there are many prettier things in the fabric world than a bundle of Liberty lawns. They’re not only beautiful visually but equally stunning to the touch as well.

DuckaDilly, both online as well as brick and mortar shop, is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Owner Lesley has been a long time connoisseur of all things Liberty – having lived in London for a time and studied around the corner from the Liberty flagship store. (If you are new to Liberty of London and wondering what all the fuss is, you can read more about Liberty of London and their famous fabrics here.)

Lesley carries a gorgeous selection of prints, and does and amazing job pulling together bundles and producing her own pre-cuts, making it easy to get a taste of Liberty goodness within any budget.

Liberty of London Stash Packs from Duckadilly

The DuckaDilly site is not only beautiful, but SO well organized and easy to navigate including being able to sort not only by collection, but by color, season, and motif such as florals, animals, or children. They have a gorgeous selection of color coordinated scrap packs available in Fat Quarters, Fat 1/8th’s and Fat 1/16ths (it’s amazing how a little bit goes a long way when it comes to Liberty prints), helping them to fit into any budget.

Duckadilly has also been  working with Liberty to bring to you special editions Hard to Find Archival Prints.

On more special characteristic: DuckaDilly is also the only shop that I’m aware of that carries Liberty prints bundled in popular precuts – such as these Liberty Jelly Rolls consisting of twenty-four 2.5″ x 52″ pieces of Tana Lawn

precut Liberty hexagons

as well as gorgeous, die-cut Charm Packs in a rainbow selection of both hexagons and squares. (This is another great way to get just a little taste of Liberty if your budget is small.)

Finally check out the “I ♥ Liberty Club”  – a way to gradually build a Liberty stash where each month you will receive a beautifully curated bundle of Liberty Tana Lawn. Available as Fat Quarters, Fat 8ths, and Fat 16ths.

English Paper Piecing Liberty Stars

I recently pulled out my own long-term Liberty project that I’ve been working on for a while now. (Watching the Olympics was a great excuse to get some hand-piecing done). I started this project 4 years ago (I can’t believe it’s been that long) when we spent part of the summer in England. Oh man, I wish I could do that again!

These six-point stars are English Paper Pieced. So far, all of the Liberty prints are different. I’m still not sure how big this quilt will be – maybe a wall hanging, maybe a throw? For now I’ve still got fabric for more unique stars, so I’m going to keep growing…

Beautiful fabrics shown in this post, but that’s not what compelled me to write today. I have followed you for a very long time. I find you to be very inspirational, motivating and your enthusiasm oozes through your posts. BUT, yesterday, I had the opportunity to watch your Craftsy class. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVED IT!!! I hope that you will be doing more classes in the future. Enjoy your week. Now, time to sew!

Oh, just love Liberty, my sister and visited the factory where they printed the Liberty fabric in Lancaster, UK. They had an open day last year, we had a tour with a chap who told us what they did with the raw fabric to how they printed it and finished the fabric. It was fascinating. Unfortunately, they had just lost the contract to do supply the fabric, its gone to Italy.

Liberty really is so beautiful and it lends itself so well to EPP. I love how your Liberty quilt is coming together. I’ve a few on the go myself and I think it’s lovely to have some slow sewing projects that you can add to bit by bit as you collect new and different fabrics.

I am so proud of myself because I saw that sale offer yesterday, but I didn’t buy anything! I have so much fabric on hand that I need to use. How could I really want for more?
