Kris and Becca also have something fun going on this month. They are working on the sampler blocks for the  Dear Diary Quilting Challenge by Anna Maria Horner.

In the words of Kris and Becca:

We hope you are following us on Instagram (@quiltsandwichfabrics), because we’ve got something fun going on this month.  We are both big Anna Maria fans, and she has a sampler block class on Creative Bug called Dear Diary that has a month’s worth of quilt blocks. Every day we’re making a block or two and learning new techniques along the way. At the end of the month, we’ll have a good-sized sampler quilt top!

Kris is doing a pretty red and white color scheme (see photo above) and Becca decided to go with darker jewel tones accented with some brights.

We also invited our friend Matt (@odditease) to join us because we are always so inspired by what he’s making. Matt chose a funky color scheme with blues, greens and golds. Definitely check out his Instagram feed for other amazing quilting projects as well as pictures of the vintage quilts he collects.

Come join us for the challenge if you’d like – use the hashtag #qsfdeardiary if you do. We have had a lot of fun so far, and we’re all enjoying having a daily time to sew, building our skills and playing with fabric!”

Sounds like so much fun! I’m loving the eclectic look of these scrappy blocks.

I like relearning how to make a quilt different than the way I did I think my grandmother would love the way it is being done now or at least I hope she would have..
