I’m so excited! My latest fabric collection for Riley Blake Designs, Sugarhouse Park fabric, is arriving in stores now!

Now that it’s officially available in stores and online, I thought I’d give you a little close up view at some of the prints and projects made with it as well as a little more of the background story about the name and inspiration for the collection.
Inspiration for the Sugarhouse Park Fabric Collection
The prints and colors in the Sugarhouse Park fabric collection are again inspired by vintage fabrics and prints that were used in quilts from my and my husband’s 1970’s childhood, given an updated, but still sentimental feel.
My childhood again is the inspiration for the name of the collection as well – Sugarhouse Park is a historic spot in my hometown and in my memory.
It was the site of picnics with friends, fireworks on the 4th of July, family reunions, and high school dates with cute boys. There is a pond for feeding ducks in the summer and the best hill for sledding in the winter.
I loved taking my sandals off to wade in the creek with cousins and learning how to pump my legs to make my swing go higher before I eventually got the courage to jump off!
The retro-vibes of this A-line sundress made by Paisley Roots captured that nostalgia perfectly.
With this collection I’ve tried to incorporate more low-volume prints – and I’ve been so happy with how they’ve turned out. I’m also SO psyched about the greens this time – they turned out perfect!
Be sure to check your favorite local quilt shop for Sugarhouse Park. If it’s not in stock nearby, you can find it online from: Fort Worth Fabric Studio, Lady Belle Fabric, Simply Love Fabrics, Stitches and Giggles, JK Quilts, and the Fat Quarter Shop.
This collection is also designed to coordinate with the Riley Blake basics woven ginghams in red, yellow, green, peacock, and navy. I love the added vintage feel they add to the collection.
Projects made with Sugarhouse Park fabric
I’ve also featured this collection in three new quilt designs, Pine Hollow Patchwork Forest, Sugarhouse Star, and soon-to-be-released, Prep School Picnic. Kits are available for Sugarhouse Star and Pine Hollow here: Simply Love Fabrics and Stitches and Giggles.
Prep School Picnic is another Layercake-friendly pattern, featuring Sugarhouse Park. You can find kits for this quilt here.
A few other fun projects made with Sugarhouse park include this darling You are My Sunshine pillow by Ameroonie Designs (pattern here). You can find kits for this pillow here.

I’ll be sharing more projects and patterns made with Sugarhouse Park in the coming weeks!
I also have a fun announcement with Aurifil thread coming in the next weeks too, so stay tuned!

The star quilt is beautiful too. I pinned it.

October 18, 2019 at 12:42 pmBeautiful collection, Amy! I love every single print and color. I am especially excited about your yellows because they just seem perfect to me…..do you find that “good” yellow fabric is sooooo difficult to find? Congratulations on another great fabric collection.

October 20, 2019 at 1:11 pmI just love the colors and the prints in this line…so pretty! I checked, but I don’t have any of the same prints from this line like I did for Gretel!
You didn’t mention it, but I think Sugarhouse Park will coordinate very nicely with your other fabric collections. Looking forward to finding just the right quilt for this beautiful fabric!
