Latest Projects on my Sewing Table

I accidentally put the wrong link in my newsletter. (doh! I hate when I do that!) If you are looking for the post about Sorting, Storing, and Using Your Fabric Scraps – CLICK HERE.

Hello all. Cathcing up around here and sharing what’s on my Sewing table. Lots going on behind the scenes and anxiously awaiting my Notting Hill collection to hit stores by the end of the month.

Here’s a little bit of what I’m working on in the meantime:

First up: It’s Week #3 of the 2021 Riley Blake Quilt Block Challenge. This week the block is called Framed Flower Block designed by Carina Gardner. This block is quick and easy.

You can find the free quilt block pattern download here (as well as the previous 2 weeks.)

And here are my three blocks so far. You can read more about the first two blocks as well as my fabric choices here. I’m using Riley Blake Confetti Cotton solids mixed with prints from my upcoming collection, Notting Hill, which will be available by the end of the month!

If you have been following along, you may have noticed I decided to add a piece of the aqua floral print from the Notting Hill collection for this block. With that nice big space and a block called Framed Flowers, how could I resist?

If you still want to start making blocks for this year’s Riley Blake Quilt Block Challenge – it’s definitely not too late to get started. There won’t be another new block released until the first Tuesday of March. Next Tuesday is a catch-up day so you can easily join the fun.

Vintage Stars Sew Along

Vintage Stars Quilt Along hosted by Bev of Flamingo Toes

Speaking of Notting Hill – here’s a peek at the collection. Bev of Flamingo Toes is using Notting Hill for a sew-along she is hosting called the Vintage Star Quilt Along. If you’ve every wanted to brush up some triangle piecing skills, this is a great project for doing that. Bev will be sharing lots of tricks and helpful tips along the way.

New Chambray and Neutrals Quilt in the works

Finally, here’s a view of what’s on my cutting table right now. I’m going to release a new quilt pattern later this week featuring Notting Hill. But I also decided it would be fun to make a version in wovens and neutrals in blues, taupe, gray and white. I’m using the RB Blossom in gray on white as my background. It’s one of my favorite background prints because the print is subtle, but gives the quilt a little more dimension and movement than solid white.

I’m also using the new Navy Blue Stitch Chambray. The rest are all prints or wovens from my stash.

We’ve been having more snowy days, so it’s felt like a great time to sit and stitch. (The machine I’m using is a Baby Lock Crescendo.) It is a trusty work horse and one of my favorite companions these days.

I know we’re not the only ones experiencing winter weather. I’m hoping you are warm and cozy and getting some stitching in where ever you are!
