Just as winter is about to rear it's chilly head, I picked up my Autumn Love small-scale sampler from Sew Shabby Quilting this week. It's all finished just in the nick of time to enjoy while it's still technically fall and I still have pumpkin decor in the house. (Updated. Original post shared November 2020.)
Autumn Love Quilt Finished
I'm so pleased with the way it all turned out. (And also proud of myself for not letting another fall go by before it was finished.)
*pats self on the back*
All of these blocks are part of Lori Holt's Autumn Love quilt pattern and tutorials. I obviously made my quilt smaller than Lori's original, using 9 of the 10" x 10" sampler blocks and adding sashing and borders.
Melissa from Sew Shabby Quilting added custom quilting to give the quilt even more detail and personality.
I chose to make my applique blocks using delicious felted wool. If you've never tried wool applique, I highly recommend it - it's so soothing and forgiving. I walk through the steps and supplies for wool applique here.
The patchwork star blocks are also part of Lori's Autumn Love quilt along and you can find the tutorial for the Star blocks here.
I used the Pebble colored prints/gingham Lori Holt's latest fabric collection, Prim (available here and here) for the sashing and outside borders and the Prim blue bias plaid for the backing. For the binding I used Lori Holt's Shabby basic in Steel. All fabrics are from Riley Blake Designs.
Now that this quilt is done, I'm excited to pull out the Christmas projects I've been making myself put on hold until this was done!
Speaking of Riley Blake Designs, I've got another fun current collection/project to share. This quilt is made using Minki Kim's fabric collection, Idyllic.
I can't take credit for making this one - this quilt was made by Mindi Watts using my Double Crossed Pattern. I love the bohemian flavor of this color palette and the way the fabric plays and works together in this scrappy design.
Finally, I'll leave you with this super cute Mini Sewing Room unboxing video for your viewing pleasure. It's pretty dang cute. 🙂
Happy weekend!

This quilt is so beautiful Amy! I also started this pattern, but I wish I'd thought of doing it in wool like you did!! It's so beautiful and rich in the wools: great job!! Hugs, H

I can see why you would pat yourself on the back, Amy. There is lots of color, lots of patterns, and lots of work. It is a simply beautiful quilt!

I love the "mini" sewing room! So very cute and well thought out! It would never occur to me to do something like this and I am so glad to see it. It is Adorable! I found it soothing to lose myself in the smallness and perfection of it.

I love your fall quilt! I have not done any wool appliqué. Looks great! I also think the mini sewing room is just the cue test! I wish my real sewing room looked like that!!!
