Baskets Revisited

    April 9, 2009 by Amy 10 Comments

    Remember these?

Well here, they are all finished. For a long time I’ve wanted to remake that basket pattern with a different look. And since I am in the middle of my teal & orange period, I thought it would be fun to do this:

It was a very fun little exercise and I’m quite pleased with the result. This one was a little more for the eyes to take in, so I sashed the blocks. I really like how the sashing blends with the background of the block below and makes that white basket (with the teal flowers – one of my favorite fabrics!) look like it is floating.
And the back was fun too. These extra baskets were a little too wonky, but they still needed a good home. Not my first pieced back, but my first with improv blocks. VERY fun. And addicting. I’m excited to do more of that.

You really are putting some wonderful things in your Etsy shop. Love the baskets. Finishing up my basket quilt got put on hold while I meet some other deadlines. Seeing yours makes me want to hurry and get back to it.

I adore your quilts! You are very talented!

I found you via Nordic Crafts, and I am so glad that I did! I’ve wanted to learn to quilt for so long. I’ve been collecting fabrics and books, but I’ve never jumped in. I am just so that I can use your patterns! Heading to your etsy shop now. 🙂
