It's time for Block #2 from Riley Blake's Meet the Makers series. Here is my second block. (You can see Block #1 and learn more about Meet the Makers here.)
Once again, I'm using a mix of fabrics from my Gingham Girls and Sunnyside Avenue collections.
Here is the video tutorial for Block #2. The Fabric Requirements per block are:
Riley White:
- 2 – 3″ squares
- 4 – 2 ½″ x 4 ½" rectangles
- 8 – 2 ½″ squares
Sweet Mint:
- 4 – 4 ½″ squares
Crayola Blizzard Blue:
- 5 – 2 ½″ squares
Vivid (darker green):
- 2 – 3″ squares
This time you may have noticed that I've decided to mix it up with a variety of prints, rather than use the same prints on all of the same block, like last week. Here's how they're looking so far. I think I kind of like the scrappy variations. Because I just love scrappy variations.
I've decided I'm going to make a variation on the original finished quilt design, mostly for the sake of time, but I'll still be making the same blocks. I'll share my final layout (it will be a finished layout of roughly 60" x 80") at the end. If you're interested in something similar , you'll only need 18 finished 10" x 10" blocks (there are 5 total block designs in the Meet the Maker quilt along). Just giving you a heads up now. 😉

I also really like using up scraps. This looks like a very fun QAL!
