Last week I had a fun time making a new version of one of my favorite precuts quilt patterns: A Bushel and a Peck. This quilt pattern is perfect for the 2 ½" wide precut strip collections sometimes called Jelly Rolls or Rolie Polies. And the pattern is on Sale this week!

Precuts (Jelly Roll) Friendly Quilt Pattern
While each fabric manufacturer has it's own name for this type of precut strips, they uniformly consist of 2 ½" strips cut the width of the fabric (from selvage edge to sevage edge). They typically come with 40 pre-cut strips of all of the prints in a fabric collection.
Precuts are the best way to get a perfectly coordinated collection of curated fabric that is ready to sew! They're both a timesaver (think about not having to manually cut all of those strips) and money saver as you get a large variety of prints without having to buy all of those pieces of yardage.
For this project I used a new collection from Riley Blake Designs called Blush 'n' Butterscotch designed by Liz and Elizabeth of Simple Simon and Co.
This collection features an on-trend palette of soft, warm colors, including shades of blush pink, butterscotch brown/gold, and lavendar.
Bushel and a Peck Quilt Pattern
The Bushel and a Peck pattern is a quick one because of the use of strip-piecing short cuts. I made this crib-size quilt in less than a week. The stipple quilting was done by my Long Arm quilter, Monica Steelman.
I used 1 Blush 'n Butterscotch Rolie Polie for all of the blocks. For the background print I used Riley Blake's Texture tone on tone print in Cream.
I made the crib-size version this time, but 1 Jelly Roll (+ yardage for the background) is also enough for a throw-size quilt!
Talking Precuts on Quilt-y Talk Show
I had the chance to visit the girls at My Girlfriends Quilt Shoppe last week on their 3 Things Live broadcast and share this quilt as well as some tips for working with precuts- specifically Jelly Rolls and this particular pattern.
If you've never watched 3 Things Live, I highly recommend it. Some fun quilt-y chatting and learning live 3 times each week. (Or you can always watch the replays - they're available on Facebook or Youtube.)
Happy Stitching!

In one of the pictures on this post, there is a quilt laying over the arm of a sofa/chair. Can you tell me where I can find the pattern for that quilt? I didn't see it in your shop.

Hi! Isn't that a great quilt? It's not one that I made - it's a vintage quilt that I found online. It's a traditional Ocean Waves quilt pattern. I found a pattern from the Fat Quarter Shop here: http://shrsl.com/4ug5u
