Free Butterfly Quit Block Pattern + Garden of Quilts

Block 14 of the 2022 Riley Blake Quilt Block challenge came out this week. Also, information about this year's Garden of Quilts event came out this week and I'll be teaching a class. More details below!

Free Butterfly Quilt Block Pattern

This week's block is a Butterfly Mosaic block designed by Jen of Be Sew Inspired.

Jennifer's scrappy mosaic blocks are so much fun. Because of time (and I'm already using a lot of busy Liberty florals) I simplified my block like this.

Here are all 14 of my Quilt Block Challenge blocks so far. You can find the printable block instructions for all 14 blocks here.

It's fun to see the big picture start to emerge as these blocks come together! There are only 2 more block patterns to be released over the next two weeks and then the final layout will be released May 17 as well.

Announcing Garden of Quilts Event - September 2022

In other news, as I mentioned, class and event schedules were released this week for this year's 2022 Garden of Quilts event hosted by Riley Blake designs. This event is held at the amazing Ashton Gardens at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah.

Classes will run September 14-17. You can see the full class schedule and catalog here and registration information here. I will be teaching my Fly the Flag quilt on Thursday afternoon. This year will also include classes from new teachers this year including Violet Craft, Amber Johnson,  Sherri McConnell, and Jenny Pedigo of Sew Kind of Wonderful.

The quilts in the Garden show will be held Friday and Saturday September 16 & 17. Free lectures and demo's will also be included with the admission ticket. In addition, there will special events each evening as well as an Open Sew session every night!

This will be my third year participating in Garden of Quilts. It's one of my favorite events of the year! You can ready about past Garden of Quilts events in 2021 and the 2019 event Here.
