A fun quilt pattern-remake to share today featuring a new Christmas-themed fabric collection from Riley Blake Designs. (Yes, I realize it's June, but have you noticed this is when the fabric companies release their Christmas collections? I think they're trying to subtley prompt us to start those Christmas quilts early. Not at the last minute, as I'm prone to do. They must know us well.) (This post contains affiliate links.)
This quilt is a remake of my Chain Link quilt pattern and features the darling new collection Way Up North By Jill Howarth.
I'm such a fan of Jill Howarth's style and darling vintage-inspired illustrations. It's so fun to see her version of cute little santa's and snow men, in their own festive Christmas village.
I chose my Chain Link pattern for this fabric collection because it's so perfect at framing and showing-off all of those cute details.
The Chain Link pattern is very beginner friendly and incorporates strip-piecing to help this quilt come together really quickly! It's also pre-cuts friendly - perfect for precut 5" x 5" charm squares! Two sets of pre-cut 5" stackers + solid yardage for the background fabrics and you're ready to sew!
I used Riley Navy and Riley White solids as the background colors so that the pinks, aqua's and reds in the collection would really pop. Also, it's kind of a different twist on a Christmas quilt.
But it still needed that festive look so I added a pop of red for the binding, using the red mini hashtag basic. I love the way it frames the quilt.
To add to the winter feel, I had Melissa from Sew Shabby Quilting quilt it with the Simple Snowflakes pattern. Also a big shout-out to my friend Emily who was my stunt-double, piecing the quilt for me this time. (Because life's been crazy. And, let's face it. I typically only make Christmas quilts the week before Christmas. 😉 )

One more thing! If you've wanted to try a Craftsy class, there's a great sale this weekend on ALL classes. I've had a few people email me recently about my large Crosshatch quilt. You can find that exclusively in my Craftsy class (including 6 other quilt patterns) and this weekend it's on sale! Sale ends 6/10.
