    Christmas Sewing Projects

    December 9, 2015 by Amy 12 Comments

Christmas Sewing ProjectsI feel like I have seen SO many cute Christmas sewing projects recently. There are always so many I want to try, so I’m finally making a list and thought I might as well put it all in one place and share it with the rest of you.

(In case you’re anything like me: I’m finally in the mood to sew Christmas projects during the Christmas season. I have a hard time doing it not-at-Christmas time. It’s kind of like Christmas music – I can’t listen to it until after Thanksgiving.)

Here are a bunch of fun Christmas making ideas -some oldies from years past, and some brand new. Most of them are free patterns or tutorials.

    Christmas Nana Comapany free pattern

Adorable (as always) Merry & Bright pillow tutorial from Nana Company.

Also from Nana Company – the cutest little holiday tags!

    Christmas Sotak Handmade Christmas tree

Modern Christmas tree pillow from Sotak Handmade. Love the minimalistic simplicity.

Christmas Stitchery pattern from the Polkadot Chair

Christmas Jodi Ric Rac free Santa pattern

Adorable free felt Santa pattern from Jodi of RicRac

Red Felt Snowflake pillows and red star quilt block pillow. Retro-inspired triangle quilt here.

Christmas Tree Table Runner by May Chappell

    cute-mini-christmas-stockings

Mini stocking Christmas bunting tutorial from Polkadot Chair

    Pocket Mouse pattern

This one is not specifically for Christmas but these pocket Mice in their little tins are SO adorable. Pattern from Larissa Holland. (Check out her other patterns too, including the 12 days of Christmas. SO CUTE.)

    patchwork-christmas-tree-block-quilt-tutorial

Mini Tree quilt tutorial – this was my favorite Christmas time project last year.

    Christmas Tree Quilt blocks

Since I had so much fun making the mini version last year, I decided to make a bigger tree version this year. This is the work in progress. By the end of the week, I’ll share the measurements and a tutorial for a bigger version, so stay tuned. POST EDIT: See the finished large tree quilt here.

    Honor Christmas

If you need a new Christmas something-something, but your time is already swamped with no time to make it yourself, here is an instant fix for you. I got this new Honor Christmas print this year and I LOVE it. One of my favorite Christmas quotes. You can find it in her Etsy shop, You Doll Design.

I’ve got a pinboard with lots more ideas that I’ll continue to add to. You can follow it here:

I love the quilt on the wall behind your pillows! Do you have a tutorial for this or a post about it?

Yes! I don’t have a specific tutorial, but here is the post about making it. (It’s still one of my favorites!)

Great projects! I really must get that print–it’s my very favorite Christmas story/movie–the George C. Scott version is my favorite.

So I just ordered the print. And realized she must be related. And then realized the cute “take” on the name of her shop. Very clever.

Oh, you’re so sweet. Yes! She is my sister. I love her work. 🙂 And I love that Christmas story too! This is the first year I’m attempting to read it outloud to my boys. I can’t remember the last time I read the whole thing all the way through.
