Finishing the Blocks from the 2025 RBD Challenge

Last Modified: May 21, 2025 by Amy · This post may contain affiliate links · This blog generates income via ads · 3 Comments

Have you been following along with Riley Blake's 2025 Quilt Block Challenge? This week they released the final block. All of these blocks are free printable PDF quilt patterns and include access to a video tutorial walking you through each block.

First of all, this week Riley Blake released the final free quilt block pattern of the 2025 quilt block challenge. Here are blocks 15 and 16.

Block 15 was contributed by yours truly. You can find the free pattern for Block 15 here and for Block 16 here.

Here's a look at all of my finished blocks. (*Pats self on the back for actually staying caught up this year*) You can find the free printable pattern PDF's for all 16 blocks here.

Riley Blake will released the free finishing instructions for this year's quilt next Tuesday (May 27).

    Block patterns + Fabric Details

In case you missed it earlier, here's where to find all of the information for this year's challenge.

And here's a recap of the Confetti Cotton Solids that I used for the blocks above.

I'm using Sand Dollar as the background for this quilt. You can find links to all of the other colors here.

And it's never to late to join one of the Riley Blake Quilt Block Challenges as all of the previous quilts and patterns are still available here.

Here are a couple of my finished quilts from previous year's challenges!

For the 2023 I went with a different layout than the instructions provided by Riley Blake that year because I wanted something a little more traditional. You can find the free pattern for the Irish Chain layout that I used here.

I'm still deciding how I'll finish this year's quilt. The great thing about the fact that every year consistently uses the 10" x 10" blocks. There are infinite different ways you can play with them, AND, if there's one block you don't love, you can always go back and swap it for a different block from a previous year!

I'm thinking of making my quilt a little smaller this year so that I can use it as a baby gift. Still deciding on the details. Stay tuned!

Your blocks are very beautiful Amy. They are going to make a gorgeous quilt. I haven't started on mine yet. I am thinking about combining them with other blocks to make the quilt bigger. I like making queen sized ones.

I am so thrilled with these designs. I’m so used to finding so too intimidating, but you made it very easy for a beginner. Looking forward to the next patterns
