    Friendship Star Quilt Block

Published: Apr 15, 2020 by Amy Smart · This post may contain affiliate links · 1 Comment

It's week 3 of the Riley Blake Designs Block Challenge. Each week we make a classic quilt block. This week we're making a classic Friendship Star quilt block.

I love this block! It comes together so quickly and it's a fun one for playing with fabric variations. I made a couple of 6" x 6" blocks and a 12" x 12" version.

This week Bev McCullough of Flamingo Toes has a tutorial for both block sizes as well as a free printable PDF pattern to make your own.

You can find the Friendship Quilt Block pattern HERE

I'm making my blocks using my latest fabric collection, Sugarhouse Park, plus a few other coordinating prints or favorites from past collections. (The dot is a coordinating Swiss Dot in Cayenne.)

Here are all of my blocks so far.  At the end of 12 weeks I'll be assembling them into a scrappy throw-size quilt (and will share instructions when I do.)

If you'd like to sew along, you can find the past block tutorial links below:
