Another Easter, another throwback to homemade matching gingham Easter dresses! That's me on the right, showing off my very special sugar peep-hole easter egg. (Remember those?! I thought they were SO amazing and special.)
I still love Easter. I love dying eggs (although, now that my kids are older, they’re not as interested as they used to be, but I’m glad they still do it to humor me.) ?
I love celebrating the return of spring and a chance for renewal.
I love dressing in our Sunday best and being with family.
For me, Easter is a season of Hope. This past year I have tended to feel somewhat discouraged by the increase in negativity, divisiveness, and bitterness I feel in our society. It's forced me to do a lot of thinking, not only about how I want to show up in the world, but how I want to choose to look at the world. As I've chosen to focus on those that are doing good, showing love, forgiveness, kindness and even just simple respect that people can have different opinions, I've felt a change in my own mood and outlook! I'm grateful for other people who choose this way of looking at the world.
That includes many of you! I've been so touched by your kind notes and gestures - especially in response to the Sew Goodness challenge. I've already started receiving requests and blocks from our March challenge!
This is what gives me hope! Knowing there are so many other good people in the world. We're all just humans trying to do our best, sometimes falling short, but we keep going and trying. And that makes a huge difference.
My faith brings me a lot of hope as well, and this is why.
Whatever your traditions, beliefs, hopes and fears, dreams and goals, please know that I am thankful for the goodness that you put into the world and I'm sending you love and encouragement and wishing you a very happy Sunday with you and those you love. xo

A day late, but Easter Monday is just as important. Yesterday was a very good day for our family
I love Easter. It is my very favorite Holy Day.
I love the picture of you and your adorable sisters

Oh, and I completely agree with you. The negativity and hate has reached a point where really no one wants to be with anyone especially if we know they are "different" in ideology
We do not watch the news anymore
Amy
I'm so glad you had a wonderful Easter and grateful to know I'm not alone! I need to figure out how to take the news app off my phone!

Amy, I recently came to the same conclusions and it has really changed how I'm feeling and dealing with the 'dark side'. I am better if that reinforces what you are doing.
Amy
So glad to hear. xo
Clare
Be the change you wish to see in the world... I'm trying too.
Amy
Thanks Clare. Keep it up!
Rosemary
Me too, Clare, and all of you. We've just moved to another state and had "new" friends over for Easter dinner plus my youngest daughter and her family came up to join us. I love the sharing of food with good friends and family. We almost never watch the news any more but do try to be aware of happenings that are positive and loving. They are out there but tend to be overshadowed by so much hate.
Thank you all for the kindness and love you project.

Precious Easter memories. I do remember those eggs, and dying eggs. Remember the little live chicks that were dyed various colors and sold! Ugh! So glad that is not legal any longer. Yes. Spring is a season of renewal and happiness.
