    More Liberty Quilt Blocks

    March 10, 2022 by Amy 4 Comments

This week I haven’t done a whole lot of sewing, but I did catch up on the latest blocks for the 2022 Riley Blake quilt block challenge. Here are my Liberty quilt blocks 7 and 8!

For my fabrics I’m using prints from Liberty of London quilter’s cottons from the Flower Show Midsummer and Midnight Garden collections mixed with Riley Blake’s Confetti Cotton solids. I’m using Confetti Cloud as for the white background. The green in block 7 is Caribbean and the orange/pink solid is Lipstick.

Block 7 is On Point Hour Glass by Melissa Mortenson. You can see Melissa’s version of the block here for a different perspective on how simply changing the colors of the block elements can change the whole look of the quilt!

Block 8 is Garden Charm by Fran Gulick of Cotton and Joy. You can see the block in her new Daybreak fabrics here.

Here are all 8 of my blocks so far on my (very thread-y) design wall.  If you’ve missed my earlier blocks you can see January’s blocks 1-3 here and the first block of February (Block #4) here and Blocks 5-6 here.

If you’re looking for all of the block patterns, fabric requirements and other information for the 2022 Quilt Block Challenge click here. A new 10″ x 10″ block is released every Tuesdays except the last Tuesday of every month. That last Tuesday is a chance to catch up. 😉

After all of the blocks have been released Riley Blake will release a pattern for the finished layout.

It’s definitely not too late to sew along if you like. Or maybe you’ll want to make a quilt by repeating just your favorite block. As always, there are endless options. You get to be the boss of your own quilt!

I LOVE your Liberty blocks! I had a small bundle of Midsummer Flower Show — been thinking of what would best show them off. Maybe this mystery quilt! Thanks, as always, for inspiration!

Hiya, I adore block 8! Who makes the yellow fabric? I’d love to add some to my Liberty quilt.
      Thanks

        HI Nikki!

It’s from the upcoming Liberty Flower Show Sunrise collection coming out April 2022. Should be available soon!
