Meet the Quiltie Website - Your Quilting Life, All in One Place

Published: Apr 2, 2026 by Amy Smart · This post may contain affiliate links · 5 Comments

I'm always excited to share resources that are created by quilters, for quilters - and today I'm happy to introduce you to Quiltie, a new platform designed to bring so many parts of our quilting lives together in one handy place. Whether you love discovering new patterns, tracking your projects, gathering inspiration from other makers, or simply connecting with people who understand this creative hobby we all love so much, Quiltie is designed with quilters in mind. I'm thrilled to turn things over to Barbara and Ula so they can tell you more about what they've created.

Meet Barbara and Ulla - quilters and app creators of the new Quiltie App and Quilter's Calculator

Meet the Barbara and Ula - the Quilters Behind Quiltie

Hi, friends! We're Barbara and Ula, the quilters behind Designed to Quilt, the creators of the Quilt Geek app, and now the new quilting platform Quiltie. We run a graphic design studio, but honestly, quilts have taken over our lives in the best possible way.

Today we're here to share something the quilting community has been asking for for a long time - a place on the internet that's truly ours. Not a corner of a knitting platform, not an algorithm-driven feed that buries your latest finish, not just another Pinterest board. A real home for quilters, built by quilters.

Quiltie App - Your Quilting Life, All in One Searchable, saveable place

Quiltie (quiltie.app) is a free members-only community platform for quilters - a place to:

    • Discover patterns filtered by technique, fabric requirements, difficulty, and more
    • Build your pattern library - save the ones you love, track the ones you've made
    • Log your projects and document your makes from start to finish
    • Manage your fabric stash - yes, really
    • See what other quilters are making - real projects, real colorways, real inspiration

But honestly, the best way to explain it is just to show you. Here are three scenarios that probably sound very familiar.

How to find quilt patterns that use precuts using the Quiltie App

You have a jelly roll and no idea what to make with it

We've all been there. You bought a gorgeous jelly roll (or three), and now it's staring at you from the shelf. On Quiltie, you can filter patterns by fabric requirements - so if you have a jelly roll, you'll find exactly which patterns you can make with it. No more falling down a Pinterest rabbit hole at midnight.

See other quilter's projects using the same quilt pattern using the Quiltie App

You found a pattern you love - but you're not sure about the colors

You know the feeling. The pattern is perfect, but the sample colorway just isn't you. On Quiltie, pattern pages show you what other quilters have made with it - different fabrics, different color combinations, different vibes. Real makes from real people, not just the designer's promo photo. And the more quilters (like you!) join and share their projects, the richer that inspiration gets.

Celebrate your project finishes with the Quilting Community

You just finished a project, and you want to show it off

You just finished a project - time to celebrate! Share your make on Quiltie with people who truly get the effort that went into it. Used a pattern? Link your project to it, and your make becomes part of that pattern's story. Other quilters browsing that same pattern will see yours. The designer gets a living gallery of her community's makes. And you get the appreciation you absolutely deserve.

How to sign up for free for the Quiltie App

    Join Quiltie - it's free

Quiltie is completely free to join. Create your account, browse patterns, share your makes, and become part of a growing community built around the thing we all love. Join now, and you'll get your Founding Member badge - because you were here at the beginning.

Sign up free at quiltie.app. We can't wait to see your makes!

    A note for pattern designers

When you list your patterns on Quiltie, they become part of a searchable database that quilters are actively browsing for their next project. Your patterns get a full profile page, complete with all the details (techniques used, fabric requirements, blocks used).

And when they're ready to buy? They go straight to your shop. No hidden fees, no commissions, no middleman. Every sale stays yours.

While Quiltie is completely free to use, a Designer subscription is required to list patterns and have them appear in the Quiltie database. It costs less than two patterns a month - and right now, during our founding period, we're giving designers their first 6 months completely free.

Head over to quiltie.app to claim your free 6 months and get your patterns in front of a growing community of quilters.

Final Thoughts about Quiltie from Me

A big thank-you to Barbara and Ula for sharing Quiltie with us today! I always love seeing creative people in the quilting world build thoughtful tools and spaces that support and encourage our community, and Quiltie feels like a fun new place for quilters to gather, get inspired, and keep track of the projects and patterns they love.

I've had some time to play with Quiltie over the past week and am really enjoying the site. To be honest, it reminds me a lot of Flickr from 15 years ago. Just photos and sharing; no ads, no algorithms, no distracting Reels (if you find those overstimulating like I do.) Just lots and lots of quilt inspiration. I like the organizational aspect of it too where you can save ideas to your own profile as well as easily access patterns you want to try.

You can create a profile and share what you're working on. I've started playing around, checking out creators and started to add some of my own pattens to Quiltie - you can find my profile here. I'll be adding more over the coming weeks. If you're a pattern designer, let me know - I'll report back about how it's going.

I hope you'll take a look Quiltie and see if it's a good fit for your quilting life. If you do, I'd love to hear what you think!

Thank you for pointing out Quiltie to your community. I just joined today and so far I love it. There are some fellow German quilters, too, and this is so nice to see. 🙂

Thank you Amy! I got the app today! I uploaded my Peter Rabbit Economy Block quilt and gave credit to you for the pattern which I got from your blog! The quilt turned out great and my granddaughter loves it! So thank you for all you do!

I was excited for the app until I installed it and it's NOT a free forum like I thought. There is a monthly fee. Guess I'm back to Pinterest 🙁

I love the squishy star pattern but seem to be having trouble accessing it. Do I need to download the Quiltie App to be able to get the pattern? I live in Australia and wondered if that was the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Leeane 😊

Is this the pattern you're trying to download? https://www.diaryofaquilter.com/squishy-stars-free-quilt-pattern-using-half-rectangle-triangles/

If yes, than no, you don't need the Quiltie App. Reach out to the designer at [email protected] and she can help!
