A few fun things from Riley Blake Designs today: the next free quilt block from this year's Quilt Along + Registration is open for the 2021 Garden of Quilts event!
This week's block is called Sugar Candy and designed by the talented Jill Finely. (Click here to see all of her blocks in her latest Grove fabric collection.)
You can find the free downloadable Sugar Candy Quilt Block Pattern HERE.
Quilt Along Week 9
When I first looked at this block, I worried it would take a long time. But Jill's instructions are slick and it came together really fast! Jill also has a free alternate block to go with it - creating a free quilt pattern here!
You can find all 9 quilt block patterns HERE. These blocks are 10″ x 10″ finished (10 ½″ x 10 ½″ unfinished).
For my blocks I’m using the red, white, and blue prints from my Notting Hill fabric collection paired with an assortment of Riley Blake Confetti Cottons in Cloud, Songbird, Tearose, Redwood, and Oxford Blue.
Second: As I mentioned, Riley Blake is hosting their third annual Garden of Quilts event September 15-18, 2021 at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah
The Thanksgiving Point Gardens are a gorgeous setting for an outdoor quilt show. In addition, this year there will again be classes, demonstrations, vendors, and trunk shows. You can find all of the information about Garden of Quilts here.
I will be teaching two different classes - my Pine Hollow pattern and Land that I Love - a medallion Americana flag quilt. I'll also be speaking and sharing a trunk show Friday morning. You can see class information and registration here.
There are lots of excellent teachers and a variety of classes to choose from. All trunk shows and lectures are included in the admission ticket price.
If you'd like to learn more, I shared lots of photos and videos of the 2019 event here.
And if you can't make it to Utah this year, don't worry - I'll be capturing and sharing the event again this year. (And for those of you who can't travel, I will have some upcoming online classes I'll be teaching soon too! Details coming soon. xo)

What a teaser! I'm excited to hear!

Oh how I would love to walk in a garden filled with quilts! The colors and textures among a soft breeze....sensory heaven! But I will do my best to imagine it all through your photos (so take lots of them 😉). I look forward to the online classes you mentioned. I "found" you through watching your classes on Craftsy. The precuts class is still one of my very favorite and I've watched it several times. Thanks for sharing your creativity and bubbly personality with all of us. 😊
Amy
Thank you, Arlene! I promise to take lots of great pictures to share. 🙂

Thanks for sharing that Quilt Along. I love their blocks so I might join it too. You've done a really nice job on your blocks.
Hazel A. Alleln
Thanks so much for sharing this work of art.
I am wondering where a list of the fabric requirements are for the entire quilt, or
are they just given at the beginning of each block.
Amy
Hi Hazel! Great question. You can find a list of all of the fabric requirements here: https://www.rileyblakedesigns.com/assets/images/sewalongs/RBDBlockChallenge/2021/FabricRequirements.pdf
