We've been wrapping up the holidays by hanging out with out-of-state family, going to basketball games, making trips to downtown Salt Lake City to see the lights...
And while I do that, I have something for you. I've wanted for some time now to have a giveaway as a way of thanking all of you for the lovely support and encouragement you are to me and to this blog. I have three copies of Moda Bake Shop's Sweet Celebrations book to share as well as Moda fat quarters or pre-cuts to go with each book. To enter just leave a comment telling me something you'd like to see more of in the quilt-blog-world during the next year.
One entry per person, please. Be sure to leave an email address where I can reach you if you are a no-reply blogger. Giveaway open until Sunday, January 6 at midnight MST. GIVEAWAY CLOSED.

I realized recently (with the excitement over the "many trips around the world" quilt) that it is SO much fun to see different quilters' interpretations of pieced quilts. I cannot think of how to implement that, however, unless you do a quilt along. I have participated in only one -- and liked the quilt so much that I

I like seeing "quilts in action:" quilts on the beds they were made for, or covering the children who snuggle in them. A hotpad next to a boiling pot of pasta, etc. But not necessarily staged. "Everyday" photos. Sometimes it seems that quilts are made in this surreal environment but really, they exist in the everyday. 🙂

You are perfect.

Love, Lady D

I love charm packs and would welcome ideas about how to cut and piece them in creative ways rather than just sewing them together. Also as a beginning quilter I welcome tips from experienced quilters, even things like how to sandwich a quilt without puckers! 🙂

I was going to say, "just keep doing more of the same" because I love all my quilty blogs just the way they are! But, I did read a few comments that made me realize I would also like to see more tutorials about FMQ. I'd love to tackle it, but I'm just so afraid...I don't want to mess up! Thanks for your great blog and all your stories, ideas, pictures, and tutorials!

Hi! Beautiful photos btw! I'd love to see more short cuts or easy tried & true methods! I like things that look time intensive but are fun & quick to do! I've realized I get bored of the color scheme or pattern after a bit & start itching to do a new project, just in time for the quilting part - hah! 🙂 I tried to fix my non reply (which until reading that post couldn'

Happy New year to you and yours.

I would love to see precuts used in the context of modern quilts, whatever that means. I am still trying to define my style and am trying to figure out what makes a piece "modern". Or as some of your readers suggested, make the traditional, complicated blocks less intimidating.

Thanks for the giveaway. maybe, this year, it is my

I like quilting tutorials. In the quilt-blog-world during the next year, I would like to see more tutorials on hand piecing and hand quilting (NOT big stitch, just plain old hand quilting in a lap hoop). I would also like to see a tutorial on making a crazy quilt (without bling and dingle-dangle stuff that makes a quilt uncomfortable for use). Guess that I feel rather retro at the moment. Thanks
