Whew.
The kids went back to school this week. I'm slowing digging out of all of the things that I kept saying, "I'll worry about that when school starts..." One of those things was putting my sewing space back in order. It definitely became a dumping ground over the past few weeks as I sewed sporadically and then ignored it for days. I have no regrets of taking things slow and easy this summer, but it also feels good to get things straightened up and organized again.
I also liked hanging up some of gradually accumulating orange peel applique blocks on the design wall. I got a bunch more done during the Olympics, so that felt fun and productive.
Also, I finally posted winners for the Pre-cuts giveaway. Thanks to all for your VERY kind words and comments on that post. I have been so behind on communication of any kind this summer (apologies if someone has emailed me and I never responded). I knew I could never respond individually to all of them, but I do feel so grateful for so many kind words. Thanks to all of you for your patience in my slowness. (Hopefully you were enjoying your own slowness.)
Some fun surprises in the mail this week + something fun to share:
This week I received these fun new tins from the Fat Quarter Shop. Not only are they cute, but they're handy containers for helping with aforementioned organization. They measure 2 ½" x 8 ½" and come individually or as a set of three.
I put my vintage hexagons + scissors/needles in one so that I can easily grab it and take it on the go. I love that it's a sturdy container and I can throw it in my bag and everything stays safe and in good condition.
Also arrived this week: the August Sew Sampler box from the Fat Quarter Shop. This box had so many good goodies! A Bobbin Nest for keeping track of your bobbins, a quilt binding tool to make it quick and easy to join your binding edges, and I'm so excited to try out those Quilter's Perfect Stick Klips - you can use them for hanging quilts - sounds so handy!
Also included is a "Jolly Bar" - an exclusive Moda 5" x 10" pre-cut just for the Fat Quarter Shop - and a fun book of 20 patterns just for Jolly Bars. There are some really fun, fast projects in that book - I can't wait to give some of them a try. And I love Corey Yoder's new Sundrops collection!
You can see more of the available Jolly Bars here. And you can learn more about the monthly Sew Sampler subscription boxes here. Each month contains fun new products and projects.
And finally, to celebrate the end of summer, and just for fun, the Fat Quarter Shop has a fun bundle of fabric to giveaway to one of you! Allison Harris's latest collection Dixie from Windham fabrics just arrived. I LOVE this line - the colors are right up my alley - lots of bright primary colors. There are prints that are great blenders that stand on their own or work with lots of other combinations.
To enter to win a Dixie Fat Quarter bundle, just leave a comment. You can tell me something you're planning to work on this fall, or just say hi. Giveaway open until Thursday, September 1 at midnight MST. (To leave a comment click on the little 'word bubble' with a number in it at the top of the post. 😉 ) GIVEAWAY CLOSED

with the change of seasons I am hoping to get a job. Its either that or I have to face doing my own spring cleaning. My dream job is one that pays enough to afford someone to clean all those annoying places like skirting boards and window ledges. I don't sound like I am seting the bar very high, do I?
I really like your vintage hexies, I gather its a longer term project. Thanks for the giveaway. Tarnia.hodges at gmail

When the cooler weather comes, that's when I love to make quilts. It is probably the power of suggestion, but making them helps me stay warm. Using bright colors keeps me happy during the dark months of winter. This bundle says spring is right around the corner.
Patty Hammond
Dixie fabrics would be perfect as one of the five beach blankets I am constructing this fall and winter for our friends and families all headed to Cape Hatteras together next summer!

Sandy Trachsel
Hi Amy. I learn so much from your blog. I am helping a local hospice patient finish a quilt. She wanted an old hand-pieced quilt top sandwiched so she could hand-quilt. I only machine piece and quilt, so I am trying to learn from her. Next on my list is starting Eleanor Burns' Radiant Star. My husband bought me the pattern book and a kit last Christmas. I hope to finish by this Christmas!
Cindy Smith
Gorgeous fabric! My WIP's are about to take over my sewing room. When mowing is over, I'll be able to sew on weekends. Yay!
LindaK
The colors and prints in the Dixie collection are just fun! Staying on top of a stitching room is so hard when things get flying...mine is our spare room and when kids come home, it gets cleaned. Of course I also do that in a hurry so it's always a treat looking and looking for what I need after they're on their way and then it does stay clean for a couple of days...ha!
Cathy Killiany
September will be dedicated to getting a tote full of quilt tops quilted so starting October 1st or before I'm getting my Christmas quilts started and done early this year. Or that's the plan! Lol!

It's impossible for me get beyond being excited at back-to-school time. Now it is my grandchildren who have transitioned back to their classrooms, but this Mimi still gets excited about their new school supplies and the prospect of fall clothes and football games. It's also time to start thinking about sewing for Christmas, because we'll just turn around a couple of times and December will be here. So that's what September holds in store for me. Looking forward to cardigans, colorful leaves and cutting out some new projects!

I'm going to just try to get sewing again. My daughter moved into a new house and took her furniture that was still at my house. Unfortunately, it was the furniture in my sewing room. That means I just haaad to buy new stuff. Enter IKEA. Love my new space, but have not gotten anything made in it yet. That will change! Thanks for showing new items from Fat Quarter Shop. Those tins are already ordered! Thanks, also, for the give away.
Arianna
I'm working on clothes for me this fall!
Yvette
Hi Amy! I've kept pretty busy during the summer with many quilty projects and I haven't slowed down yet. Because of all the "to-do" projects swimming in my head, I have no idea what I would do with this fabric. But it's so pretty!!! I know I'll come up with something. BTW, you should always enjoy time with your kids during the summer. No one could ever fault you for that. xoxo
Cheryl
I plan to work on a T- shirt quilt for my daughter. I will do the sewing, she will design the quilt using the shirts she kept from her childhood. She saves everything, and when she recently heard about T-shirt quilts, she thought it would be a great way to preserve her memories. I agree! Also, I purchased your Craftsy class on pre-cuts and am eager to watch, learn, and be inspired.
Katy(LethargicLass)
I am working on too many things, but the main one is a 60th birthday quilt for my cousin
Georgina Sears
I'm working on seven more grandkid's quilts ~ hoping to finish before Christmas (wish me luck!!)
Patti McGarry
I had 5 WIP's that I did not get to finish this summer because of the heat. I very much hope to knock them out this fall!
Janet
Such lovely fabrics with such saturated colors! Thank you for the opportunity at the giveaway. This fall I'm not sewing much as I had shoulder surgery three weeks ago. I have learned to sew one-handed and thankfully I had several projects that were already cut. I'm limited to pushing fabric through the needle and ironing! Thankful to be able to just spend some time in my sewing room happy place!
Amy L
This fall, I'm going to try and get a quilt done for my brother-in-law. He's the only member on my husband's side without one to call his own. He recently became a bee keeper, so I'm on the prowl for golden, honey-colored fabrics. Allison's fabrics are fun! We had a babysitter named Dixie when I was young, so this fabric has sentimental meaning for me.
Jenice Duvall
This blog post is just saturated with color! I have been trying to finish up several baby quilts - 3 more to go. Every baby needs a "Linus Blanket" and they are so quickly done, I get a lot of satisfaction in making them.
Teresa@aureaskitchen
This year I am trying to finish some wip... so I have 4 months ahead to finish them...
Gail Duman
I finished 3 WIP's and feel pretty good about it. Now I'm all caught up and ready to start something new.
Cathy B.
I've just joined a local quilt guild starting up again in September. So excited to be able to share and bounce ideas off others!
Pam
I have at least seven projects I am working on right now. I am also about to start a baby quilt for my new grand baby due in January. Lots of fun and I never get bored.
Ann Z
Even though I no longer have kids going back to school, I still have a feeling of transition every September. I guess it's just something that never goes away!
Timtirim
I'm in love with your orange peel quilt! I hope I will have more time for sewing after schoolstart... I need a new bag and a quilt is also planned...
Emily C
Oooo. I love goodie boxes. I am trying to finish my current WIP, but it keeps hopping into UFO and back. So, I would love to have it finished soon, I doubt that is likely. I am making a teddy bear for my niece, which I am starting soon. That will get completed in the next week or so as her birthday is coming up.
Karen J.
My niece will be a first-time grandma in December and has asked me to sew nursery items. First item is cut out. She will be visiting later this week so I can teach her how to sew. Fun!!!
MARIA G.
I just want to finish those cushions put aside early this summer.......
Claire
I am loving your orange peel blocks and especially how you can just do one, or a ton at a time!
Jean D
Your adorable orange peels are making my never used orange peel template scream to be used! After buying new shelves (at last!), I spent the better half of yesterday organizing my fabric. I got up early today and went in my sewing room to just LOOK at my stash. Today I'll be playing with the stash and finishing up a set of placemats for my daughter. In fact, I am using the free pattern for charm pack placemats from the Fat Quarter Shop.
Meghan H.
Hi Amy, thanks so much at this chance for such a great giveaway! Hmmm, let's see.....I'm working on three blocks of the month (two from local quilt shops and Pat Sloan's Secret Garden BOM), so they have priority. And I also want to make more bibs for my students (I'm a special Ed teacher in a severe needs classroom). School is starting this week--yikes!!
Quilting Tangent
Hi, Quilting on a queen size quilt and applique on a tree skirt.
Karen Seitz
I have a million projects underway but have temporarily lost my machine sewing mojo, so I am not sure what I am going to get finished any time soon. I have been stitching away on my Wild Olive 50 States motifs which had been tucked away for way too long, and I got started on the Frosted Pumpkin National Parks Club which started this week, so at least there's some stitchy goodness happening around here.
Renea Yarolim
I plan to continue on my goal of finishing projects that I started many years ago. Love this fabric. Thanks for the wonderful giveaway.
Sheila Ramsden
I just love the fabric!! I am making wallets, so these fabrics would be great, thanks
Stephanie W.
I have a couple of gift quilts to work on but I would also love to get started on a fall quilt for myself. Not enough hours in the day!
Marie Cheesman
Those tins from Fat Quarter Shop are beautiful and I can see where they would be especially good for travelling with your cutter. You've found other great ways to fill them too. Sounds like you had a great summer break and are 'heading back to school' in your own way. I find that September is always a great re-set month - not sure if it's the conditioning from going back to school for all of those years but everyone seems to pick up their socks a bit and get more organized and focuses.. Lovely prints - thanks for the giveaway. p,s, Your design wall is looking great!
Karen Goad
I will start a quilt with another quilter - we plan on both making a couple blocks a month and sharing our progress - using an old block from the 1930's Kansas City Star collection of patterns - finding out that many blocks that some think are new are not - thanks for the give away
Anne
Oh my, that fabric pack looks delicious. Would it help to say I'll be working on doing something with that particular pack? No, I didn't think so. This fall, I'll be working on my Stash Reduction 2016 list - there were 6 projects on there at the beginning of the year, and now there are only 2 left to go. With the end in sight, it's nose to the grindstone!
Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!
The Lisa Marie
I started several quilts summer. So, I plan to spend the fall finishing (at least on of) them!
Deb M
I'm currently working on a large lap quilt for our son-in-law's birthday and participating in a mystery QAL.
Sharon Hughson
I love this fabric bundle! I'm still working on organizing/redesigning my quilting studio. I am sneaking UFO work in daily.
Michele
This fall, I would like to reduce my UFP/WIP stack!
Leslie K.
I have really enjoyed hand applique lately....started it when I needed something to stitch during the Olympics. I am now working on several sets of autumn coasters for our two daughters and then on to some Christmas gift sewing! It sounds like you had a wonderful summer!
Teresa Stanulis
I spent the last week cleaning off my large cutting table which had become the depository for all the stuff my son decided NOT to take back to college! I'm looking forward to finishing quilt that I've had in the works for years. Got the backing ready, the batting cut and now that I have my table back, I can pin baste it and quilt! Then I get to start something new again!
Ruby Clark
Love that fabric . Thanks for everything you share . Love love your blog
Alice news
Still working on Christmas projects...December will be here before we know it !! Lovely prints thanks for the chance.
Rebecca Christensen
Ordered the jolly bar book when I saw it on your blog. Would love try this fabric to make one of its patterns.
Susan Ferguson
Those fabrics would be perfect for a BOM I just signed up for. Please send them my way! Summer's are great but it is good to get back into our more productive quilting season. I'm sure you will agree though that time with your children is really the most productive and rewarding work we do.
Little Quiltsong
Your sewing room looks so sunny and inviting. Perfect place to sew and dream of future patterns :)! I'm sewing along with two Sew Alongs - one right now and one starting in September. Along with that I have a 'few' other patterns I would like to tackle. I actually love that the end is never in sight with my quilting!!
Virginia Marien
Love this fabric bundle. It's so much fun to read through the comments and see all the visions and plans for fall. so inspiring. My main focus for fall is working hard on my Christmas presents sewing. Thanks for all your inspiration.
Carla
I have 3 graduation quilts to do, and a couple of wedding quilts which are becoming anniversary quilts since I didn't get them done in time for the weddings.
Carol Skiles
I would love to work with this fabric...a quilt, cute bags, love Allison Harris. I am impressed with all of your projects!!
Linda Enneking
I have fabric for a Halloween throw, and yesterday I bought a kit for an autumn themed quilt. Both will have to wait until I finish my current project, a bed quilt for my granddaughter.
Connie B of AZ
After a summer of just for fun projects I will spend a bit of time getting organized too, the catch up on some block of the months and try a pattern in my FQ Jolly Bar book
Rosemary Barron
Still have a couple of WIPs to finish ... Okay, MORE than a couple! Also have a box of hexies that have been partially put together (thanks for reminding me with yours ... lol) somewhere that I CAN'T find. I really do not want to start over. Love the giveaway. Love what you do. Love Fat Quarters! Thanks for sharing for wonderful talent with us!!
Liz F
I have 2 quilts that I'm hoping to finish before I'm tempted to start something new but I could be easily swayed with a fat quarter bundle of "Dixie".
Angela Milazzo
Hi there, I'm working on a wedding quilt for my son and dil, who got married in June! Gah!
Bonney
Those orange peel blocks look very tempting and great for when things get busy but you need to create something. The colors of the giveaway are so fresh and fun!
Tracey Holly
Dixie has all the happy colors I love. I'm someone who has to have bright colors to quilt with.
Tracey Holzer
Wow, that is beautiful fabric and thanks for this chance. We farm, so I won't have much opportunity to sew for the next month or so, but I'm going to start on the Labyrinth pattern in grey and orange for my son. He's been waiting patiently for a long, long time for a quilt!!
GG
Oh so good to have you show up in my mailbox this morning! Love the Dixie bundle, perfect primaries.
Diane Cunningham
Have been working on quilts for my Grand children for Christmas.. The Dixie prints would be perfect for one of the girls...Love all your beautiful quilts!!!
Rebecca Seamon
Love your orange peel blocks!
Becca
I'm in the last weeks of being pregnant with twins, so that's pretty much what I'm doing...every once in a while I get a few minutes where I'm feeling up to sewing (and I spend that trying to wrap up WIPs before the babies come), but mostly, I'm sitting around resting.
Lisa C
Your post today was inspiring! I too need to get a little organizing done in my sewing room. Summer is coming to an end soon and school has started so I am getting excited to have the time to get some projects finished! Love the picture of your design wall! Inspired again!
Sue H
Pretty colors in the giveaway!
scrappymcboo
Love the line of fabric! It's been a hot summer in Northern California so I'm working on a bear paw Halloween quilt to remind myself that cooler weather is in our future!
Ann
My plan is to dig out my studio as well and finish the "waiting to be quilted" pile. Thanks for the giveaway.
Kathy E.
I totally understand how the summer goes when there are kids in the house! Enjoy them while they're young...your sewing room can wait! You certainly did get some terrific goodies in the mail! I'll bet you were dancing. This fall I will be finishing up a CrossCut quilt for my daughter and hopefully will start a different quilt for my son...both will be Christmas gifts.
Christina M
Your design wall is so inspiring! I've never tried orange peel blocks but may try those once my first hexie project is finished. Our kids go back to school this week and I start teaching too, so the sewing projects will be on the back burner for a while. Enjoy your newly organized space!
Jule
Hi, time flies by so fast at the moment. I try to catch up with so many things, don't know if it will work.
Cynthia Brunz
My plan for fall is to focus on finishing projects. So having some beautiful fabrics as a carrot to complete them quickly is appreciated!
Nicki Bauer
I'm the opposite of you and get most of my sewing done in the summer because like your kids that go back to school so do the teachers. As I get in the groove of things with my new kindergarten class, sewing will take a back burner for a few weeks, but alas I'll find it again I know.
Annette Stewart
Enjoy reading your blog. Working on carry all bags for my daughter-in-laws for Christmas.
Deby Coles
Thanks so much for the giveaway. Beautiful fabrics (that would look perfect at my house 😉 )
carolyn montgomery

I enjoy your blog. The photos are lovely eye candy. This fall I am in the UFO matrix. I have 3 big projects that need to find their completions.
Carol gouveia
I am working on 2 quilts for my brothers who are both older and not in the best of health. I am making both of them a quilt with cowboy boots on them. I have cut all the boots and backgrounds out. Would like to appliqué rope around the outside border but not sure how to do that. Oh by the way they are both ranchers/cowboys. Would love to win your Dixie giveaway. Good to have you back quilting. Carol
Janelle
What beautiful fabrics! Thanks for the giveaway!
I am currently working on 2 quilts for the young children of friends who will be visiting soon!

This Fall I hope to complete a quilt for our guild's quilt bingo.
Kristi
Thanks to you and FQS for this wonderful giveaway!! I, too, am organizing my sewing room to get ready for some autumn sewing.
Tina
School starts Tuesday for us. I'm looking forward to getting back into a routine. My daughter starts middle school and she wants to be on the cross country team; in addition to ice skating, piano, tennis, and flute lessons! So with all that, I hope to be able to get to sew some.
jackie norwood
Finished up Yummy pattern quilt for my son for Christmas.....in Lakeside Gatherings fabrics.
Linda
Now that our kids are grown, I took both of their bedrooms for my sewing. Both rooms had gradually gotten messy so I have spent the last two days straightening up and doing chores that I have been avoiding (like shortening the drapes 1-1/2 inches - yuck). I also sewed binding on a quilt that I made a mess of trying to improve my quilting. Needless to say, I'm ready for fun and I LOVE that Dixie fabric.
Laura Rieben
I am starting a wedding quilt for my daughter's brother in law.
Knella (@knella)
I just completed my second ever table runner! Love being inspired by an "expert"! Love to see how your quilting space is organized! Thanks!
Vicki H
The mini quilts on your wall are so cute. I wish my sewing table was as neat as yours.
Cathy C
Thanks for the giveaway. I'm just finishing 2 quilts, ready to start my next project when I get back from a vacation.

As soon as my garden slows down, I might get to some sewing. Love the bundle.
Esther
I enjoy your emails and blog so much. I am a very beginner quilter so look for ideas and learning techniques all the time. Thanks for everything!
Susanne Frailey
Looks like fun fabric to cut into.
Catherine Dorsey
I am working on finishing a quilt for my first grandson who will be 13 this Nov. Those colors are gorgeous.
Brenda Irwin
Love the colors of the Wyndham fabric. Working on the splendid sampler. Must start thinking about making things for our Guild's Christmas Sale! Yikes it will be here before we know it.
Jennifer
Your sewing space is so inspiring! I love your orange peel appliqué on your design wall?
Maybe I will get a design wall up this fall....thanks for the chance at this lovely giveaway.
Sue Greene
My immediate goal is to order more tins from the Fat Quarter Shop! I adore the one that came in my August box!
Claudia Berkley
I thought the FQS box was great - I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with yours.
April
I plan on working on quilting two quilts for my nieces for Christmas and a making quilt for my guest bedroom, not to mention the two hexie hand quilting projects I still have going.
Laura M
Love the colors in that set of fat quarters (especially the turquoise!) I am currently working on some pouches. I hope to get some quilts put together after I have a design wall up. Have a plus quilt with kona silver as the neutral and the plusses in various dots, also 2 half hexy quilts. Thanks for your interesting posts.
Anita
Hi from the San Francisco Bay Area. My daughter has been back in school for two weeks now. I'm making an effort to get back into finishing my sweet tea and green beans quilt. Thank you for the chance to win some inspiring fabric.
Kathie L
I have a new grandson that needs a quilt from me. Love these fabric colors also.
Michelle
Just finishing a Christmas tree quilt. Working on a scrappy Friendship Star quilt for the hubby for Christmas. Love this line in the giveaway!
Janet T
I would like to finish a couple UFOs that I have stacked on my sewing table. They have been there a month or two and something keeps pushing them to the bottom of the pile. There is nothing pressing right now, so I am hoping to tackle them this week, and at least put a dent in the stack!
Diane W
Ive got to finish one baby quilt and make 2 more. Then i can dig into all my newest pre-cuts. And organize my toy room and put up tables, etc to have ladies over for quilt night.
Alma D
I am new "ish" to quilting so I registered for a placemat class. It's in Nov. I have picked out my car quarters and can't wait. I really need to buy a new seeing machine, though. What do you recommend?
Jan Sells
Your sewing corner with the design wall looks so inviting. I want to try to organize something like that. What a great bundle!
Mama O
Just speed-quilted in a major marathon a quilt for each daughter to take to college. Have a couple of charity and gift quilts still to go. Ready to sneak in a little "me" sewing. That August box is to die for!
Dawn A.
Love your orange peel blocks. Looking forward to fall sewing.
Sabrina van Ginkel
I have a collection of fall fabris, a lot of them fat quarters, that I cannot find a nice pattern for. I need to decide on a pattern for them this Fall.
sharon
Hi-- I would like to work on some of those (7) quilt kits that I bought, I liked them (still do) and they were a fabulous price when I purchased them .. BUt did I think they would sew themselves together?
Jude
Thank you for the give away! I love Dixie and I love Allison, and you! ....and your mom! I sat next to her at a class at Winter Quiltfest!
Tiffany
My twins started preschool last week. I'm really looking forward to the peace and quiet. I think I need to spend some time updating my etsy shop - my fabric budget is frighteningly low...
JUDIE HARRON
I am sew far behind on my SS blocks, especially the applique and embroidery designs...stiff joints make it sew hard to accomplish. I am gradually setting aside the pieces and will forge ahead as fall brings a slower pace to everything! Love your mini quilts in your sewing studio...sew sweet! Thanks for the giveaway...keep sewing at your own pace...me too!
marriannad
Today's quilt project is quick and easy: measure the quilt top I have already sewn using Kaffe Fasset fabrics and Hofman whites. Take a photo of this quilt top. Send photo and measurements to a friend who is going to Las Vegas, NV, over the holiday weekend so she can go to a great quilt shop in Henderson and get me Kaffe backing fabric. We have one quilt shop in my small city and they do NOT carry Kaffe fabrics. And maybe I'll win your stack of wonderful new fabrics. They look delicious. Thanks for the opportunity.
Sincerely,
Marrianna
Debbie Birch
Thanks for the giveaway, live the colors!!
Anita
What a gorgeous giveaway!
I have way too many projects going on, but I hope I will be able to make a quilt for my son's new apartment, soon.
Amy Cavanagh
I have just started cutting out the pieces of fabric for a quilt that I have been hoarding fabrics for for over 5 years!!! Time to get 'er done!!! Hoping to use flannel for the baking!
Renae
My sister wants a fall table runner and I'd really like to make her one!
Kathy Anderson
Looking forward to cooler weather and being back at the sewing machine. Usually don't get too much sewing in during the summer months and it's always such a joy to get back to it.
Colleen
I am making suitcases from a free pattern on the Internet for my 5 grandchild 4 girls and 1 boy and I am planing on making (I've made one) some sew together bags and a bionic gear bag and a simple quilt as you go hexagon Halloween quilt with the 15 year old granddaughter.
I'd really be able to use this group of fabrics to make more things for those darling children 15-4 years old
Colleen
Jayme Atencio Lane
These are so pretty! I'm currently making lots of half-square triangles to make charity quilts for kids. And trying to finish my half-dozen unfinished quilting projects. 🙂
Susan Green

Margie Scott
I love the bright cheery colors in this fabric pack! I'm working on finishing a lot of WIPs and have started a couple of projects for the holidays.
Linda Cejnar
I'm going to be continuing on my UFOs. I'm currently finishing putting a ruffle binding on a quilt - I doubt if I ever make another quilt with a ruffle binding, and when that is done it is on to the next UFO. Thanks to FQS for providing the fabric for the giveaway. The colors are lovely.
Lois Depp
I'm planning on making a quilted jacket. I'm so excited!
Diana Roye
Loving that new fabric you are giving away. I have been ironing and cutting scraps for the past week. I will start sewing again on Tuesday.
Brenda Sanderson
I'm working on school projects the first part of Fall as my class is rather large this year. Then I can start sewing for Christmas gifts. It sounds like we will have a long winter with lots of snow. Great as I will have lots of time to see.
Ann D
"Happy" is what comes to mind in seeing those fabrics. Thanks for the chance to win them.
As for projects, I have a quilt top which needs to be sandwiched and quilted. And then, since September 1st is this Thursday, I'll find out what random number is picked in the allpeoplequilt's UFO challenge. It's been fun setting up my list of 12 UFOs and then working on them throughout the year. Having a month to complete a project is generally enough time and when that's done. I don't feel guilty about working on something new.
gussek
Hi. Thanks so much for the wonderful giveaway. I would love to win!
Kellie
Too many works in progress I need to finish - but that has not stopped me from purchasing new fabric!
Karen Bachofner
HI Amy - sounds like you had a nice summer. I am done with my summer sewing projects and starting to think about the upcoming holidays and just what I want to sew. The wonderful thing is I always have an abundance of ideas but never enough time to sew them all. Enjoy!!

Aloha Amy! Making a Sparklette Quilt for my Mom's 80th birthday. Naming it the Summerhouse Quilt as she loves to spend time sitting, reading and looking at her beautiful garden in England from her tiny summerhouse 🙂 Thrilled to be entering a drawing - thank you and Happy Quilting!
Diane Carlson
Love the Dixie and also love the glimpse of you sewing room. I have been stressing over how to set up my space. After seeing yours I realize it doesn't have to be complicated in order to be organized. I think I'll start by just getting rid of one of the twin beds in the room. I already have a design wall in there but now sew and cut at the dining room table. So can't close a door on works in progress.
Barbara
Please include me in your giveaway. Love the fabrics!
alexis

Robby
I've only been following your blog for about a year, but I think I need to find time to go back to the beginning and at least browse or read from there. Every time I start looking at some new type of quilt or technique I want to do my searches turn up something great from your blog. Thanks for taking the time to share so much knowledge and creativity here.

Lisa in Port Hope
I'm finishing up a garment today before going back to some patchwork projects.
Maren Firment
I am a beginning quilter and am attempting to hand quilt a quilt-top made by my grandmother and never finished. I purchased traditional fabric for the backing and I have been working on it for several months. I would like to move on to machine quilting when I finish this but since the top was made by hand I wanted to maintain the integrity of the quilt.
Edith Gorzo
I am working on catching up on a few BOM's that I am following. I also am going to try and quilt a project or two that have been waiting for "their" time. Just like wine, they aren't ready before their time. Lol
Stephanie Stevenson
Love the bright colors would be great for a picnic quilt I'm planning.

Carol Wells
Beautiful fabric! Working on UFOs and Christmas gifts.
Vicki
Oh, I do like your orange peels. I think I'll have to do one of those someday! Sundrops and Dixie both have been tantalizing to me this week -- that yellow! Those blenders! I redirected a WIP today-- I decided those ten million HSTs were not going to make a cute sampler quilt after all but they will make a fairly decent broken dishes quilt!-- and that feels like progress even though it's all in my head.
Rita Subrt
I'll be working on my Millefiore hexie rosettes. Would love to add some new colors to it!
Pat
Have a baby quilt back from the quilter needing binding, finishing up my New Hexagon Millie (EPP), and need to piece the backing for My Small World (Jen Kingwell)...love this fabric! (Big fan of The Fat Quarter Shop, too!)

That's a really cute bundle! Can you believe summer is over and the mountains are already starting to show signs that fall is coming. I can't believe the trees above Provo are already starting to turn orange! I promised my daughter I would finish her quilt before it got cold this fall, so I better finish assembling the top and get it quilted. Then I can finish my B and C Dwell block swap houses. It is going to be so bright and cheery. Then I want to work on a Christmas quilt. Have fun this fall, love seeing your mountain hike pictures.
Julie K
I had a quiet summer, sewing-wise. I'm looking forward to settling back into the school year routine. Earlier kid bedtimes = more sewing time! I need to finish the twin quilt for my daughter's big girl bed, and hope to do a smaller wall hanging for my mom in time for Christmas.

What a beautiful bundle it is ? It would look lovely on a quilt.
I've just completed 2 quilts for the family and my next project is to make a queen size quilt for my bed. Seems I always make quilts for others and forget about myself.

I suffer from terrible, debilitating seasonal depression. So I am hoping working on a quilt for me, in bright happy colors will help me get through the "long dark of Moria" that I travel every year.
