Love All Around quilt block

Love all around quilt blocks

What the world needs now, is love, sweet love.

Good timing for all of the heart and Valentine/love-inspired-projects that are abundant this time of year.

Love All Around quilt block

A short while ago, Lee of May Chappell Designs, felt inspired to create a new quilt block to encourage a little more love in our lives. It’s called the Love All Around block.

In her words: “Lately I’ve been feeling as though there’s a lot of negativity going around, from the election to world affairs to right here in our own quilting community. I decided to create a block called Love All Around. It’s all about coming from a place of love and kindness. Quilting brings me joy and I love sharing that with all of you! Let’s all try to take a second to send a note of support, offer a word of kindness, cheer for the underdog or offer a helping hand. If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. Or maybe keep thinking and find something nice to say!”

I’m all for that. This block was so fun to make. I think I’m going to make a couple more and make a table runner. You can find the free tutorial for Lee’s Love All Around Block here.

And since making these blocks did such a great job of getting me in the mood for Valentine’s Day, I thought I’d share a bunch more of my favorite heart and love-inspired quilting projects. There are so many cute ones out there. Here’s a bunch:

A question for you – do you know the manufacturer of the newspaper fabric?

I used two different ones, but the main one is from a collection called Ardently Austen for Riley Blake Designs. They’re all quotes from Jane Austen books. 🙂 But if you’re not picky about what the text says, just search “Text Print Fabric” and you’ll find lots of choices!
