Have you seen the new Technicolor collection by Emily Herrick that is coming out any minute? I am so excited to dig in and play with some of these prints
Emily debuted this collection at Quilt Market. It is such a cheerful and colorful collection. And something else cool that I didn't know about: See those shapes on the counter to the right of Emily? Michael Miller has created precuts in different shapes including circles, hexagons, and triangles. AND you can even buy them with OR without iron-on adhesives on the back. I thought that was pretty clever and pretty cool.
Here's a closer look at the prints in the Technicolor collection. Some really great blenders and some interesting new designs. I love the colors she used. I also love that diamond cheater print (right). So much you could do with that. Keep your eyes peeled for Technicolor in shops and online soon. Fat Quarter Shop already has it available for pre-order and Westwood Acres will also carry bundles soon.
I think I like the back equally as much as the front. In fact, it made me think I should make more quilt fronts like this one. The strips are so quick to piece and it's an easy way to show off lots of cute prints. I love the pink and gray colorway from Let's Pretend and that little girl with the bear in the harlequin pants is my favorite print in the collection. I definitely need a bit more of that one! And the crowns. Such a cute 'solid' print in a variety of colors. Let's Pretend will ship to shops in June.

That is a beautiful new fabric line. Love your new quilt. The bakc is just as great as the front. I really like the pieced backs like this. SO much better than one single boreing color. We put so much creativity into the fronts so why stop their.

Love the patterns and bright colors of the new fabric. I think I will also do a quilt front like your quilt back. So pretty!

Loving everything here today. The technicolor prints are not my usual style, but I really am liking them. I love her colours. The Sarah Jane quilt is gorgeous. Diamonds aren't my usual style either, but I doubt the hubs would notice here! If you have a cool easy way of making them, I'm listening! I love the strip pieced back too.

I'll be interested in your tutorial on piecing the diamonds. I'm relatively new to quilting. My daughter gave me a diamond shaped ruler for Mother's day. She just went through the quilting aisle at Joann's and picked out random stuff for my sewing room. It was a very thoughtful group of little gifts!

Thank you for showing off your fabric finds. I am in New Zealand, where our shops simply don't have the breadth off fabric brands and ranges that you get. We can buy online of course, but that can be a bit of a gamble. So post like this one - showing off a range in detail, with plenty of combinations and potential lay-ups - are really very useful. Much appreciated!

Husbands are funny with their comments about our hobby/passion, aren't they? I love the diamonds and am looking forward to the tutorial. I am guessing they were not made using EPP!
