The Fat Quarter Shop is releasing a new video tutorial on their YouTube channel called Star Cakes.
For my own version using this pattern I used Fig Tree Quilt’s newest Moda collection, Farmhouse paired with Moda Bella Solid in cream (sku 9900-11). I love how the cream, paired with the warm colors of the collection, it makes such a warm quilt. And I really love that black thrown in there. Feels autumn-ish to me.
Farmhouse yardage arrives in fabric stores this month. I’m excited to get yardage so I can add outside borders and get this quilt finished for fall.
I love a good scrappy-looking quilt and this pattern is a fun way to get an easily coordinated scrappy look using a collection of 10″ pre-cut squares.
You can watch the full pattern tutorial right here (click above) or click over to the Fat Quarter Shop YouTube channel.
Coinciding with this new video quilt pattern/tutorial the Fat Quarter Shop is having a special where all Layer Cakes are 20% off for 3 days only (Monday, Sept 7th through Wed Sept 9th). Enjoy!

September 7, 2015 at 7:35 amWhat a fun block! I need to make a quilt for my granddaughter, but I bought a jelly roll thinking I would make a scrappy quilt. Now I wish I had a layer cake. Oh well. I guess I’ll just *have* to buy more fabric.

September 7, 2015 at 9:39 amI would love to win the Applique book by Alison Glass. Mad about Patchwork has a good selection of books–many of which I already own. And you are absolutely right–Pam does offer great customer service. I encourage your readers to try her shop.

Cannot wait to see it all finished….looks like it would go together easily, with all those half square triangles!

September 9, 2015 at 7:23 pmThe black is the greatest, right? I normally am not a fan of these colors but I just adore this collection. The black really does something for it
