Over the past year you may remember posts about the Splendid Sampler hosted by the wonderful Pat Sloan and Jane Davidson.
This Sampler consisted of over 100 quilt blocks designed by a huge number of quilters. I felt so lucky to be invited to contribute. This "Goose on the Loose" 6" x 6" paper-pieced quilt block was my contribution.
And now behold: The Splendid Sampler book! All of those blocks have been compiled into a beautiful new book published by Martingale/That Patchwork Place. This is a hefty book of 144 pages of all color photos and diagrams as well as full-size templates and paper-piecing patterns! It's a fun book with lots of quilt-y inspiration.
I'm so excited to have all of these patterns all in one place so I can keep making blocks - I've always wanted a funky, colorful, sampler quilt. (You can see the progress on my blocks so far in this post.)
And to celebrate, Pat, Jane, and Martingale are hosting a big party with lots of giveaways. But don't delay if you're going to check it out because today (April 20) is the last day to enter!
Speaking of cute quilt blocks, I got caught up on my Patchwork Quilt Along blocks for April. These are more cute little 6" x 6" quilt blocks in one of my favorite layouts. You can find the pattern here.
This Quilt Along is hosted by the Fat Quarter Shop and is a fundraiser for the Make a Wish Foundation. You can find out more details on the FQS blog.
I love putting all of my blocks (thus far) up on my design wall and standing back to admire them. They're so stinking cute. I'm using the Bonnie and Camille Basics kit, but I'm throwing in other B&C prints from my stash to mix things up. And it's working out nicely.

What a great little block you designed. I'm not a paper piecer but that one has me thinking about it...
