A few quick things to share: including a Podcast Interview with American Patchwork and Quilting as well as the latest free quilt block pattern from Riley Blake Designs.
A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to get interviewed for the American Patchwork and Quilting Podcast. (I’m a Podcast junkie, so this was extra fun. Podcasts are my current favorite thing to consume while I sew.)
We talked about a bunch of things including organizing a fabric stash, connecting to other quilters in this world of global social media, as well as finding and sparking your creativity during a pandemic.
You can listen to the full interview here (Episode 508) or wherever you listen or subscribe to Podcasts.
This week Riley Blake Designs released the pattern for Block #7 of the 2021 Quilt Block Challenge Sampler. This block was designed by Melanie Collette of Hello Melly.
You can find the link to the free printable Block #7 Here
Here are all of Melanie’s blocks so far using her latest fabric collection, Pure Delight. I think it’s so much fun to see how different the blocks turn out in different fabric colors and combinations.
I’m a little late posting this week’s block. We took some much needed time away as a family for a few days. Our first excursion for our whole family in over a year. We picked a quiet, uncrowded spot on the California coast where we laid low and hung out together at an AirBnb rental, mostly lounging about (except for my college girls who were still attending their online college classes. But hopefully the change of scenery was a good reboost.)
We also enjoyed eating Fish Tacos and Easter Candy, sleeping in, and watching sunsets like this. A change of pace and scenery was just what we needed. There’s something so healing about hearing the ocean and breathing the air.

I am so excited for the opportunity to win a copy of this software. My favorite method of piecing is with my Baby Loc. I love the process of chain piecing it soothes my soul.

That sunset looks magical Amy! Just looking at it, I can recall the smell the California beach air. In reality, I am snuggled on my sofa, ready to tune in to your podcast while I finish the hand quilting on my current project.
