Some fun things to share. (Hopefully you think so too.)
First off, did you see that Sandi Henderson's Henna Garden is going to be reprinted? It's true! Go and vote for your favorite color. Or colors. For me it's Pumpkin. I'm a sucker for orange and this one is perfect. But I also love that spring pink too.
Second, Sarah Jane's new fabric, Children at Play has arrived in fabric shops! You can find some at Skye Reve and Fresh Squeezed Fabric. There are SO many great prints in this collection. Classic stripes, dots, and ginghams in great colors, not to mention the fabulous novelty prints from Sarah Jane's fabulous illustrations. I'm in love with this stuff. (You can see what I've done with some of this fabric here.)
And speaking of Children at Play, Sarah Jane currently has a fabulous giveaway going on at her blog.
Third, the nice folks at the Sewing Summit just posted an interview with me (in case you don't get enough of me at this silly blog).
I'm teaching an intro to Quilting basics class at the Sewing Summit in October. If you were going to an intro to Quilting class, what would you most want to learn about? I really want to make this class as helpful as possible so I would love any suggestions or requests.
Finally, today I have a guest post (making easy Super Hero capes) at the Land of Nod's new blog called Honest to Nod. It is an adorable blog with lots of cute ideas and tutorials.
Okay, that's all the business for now. I have a cute new project to share next time.

Hey kiddo...if I was taking your class I would want to know more about ironing...the proper way(s) and how to make quilts that have lots of triangles with lots of fabric meeting in one place not so bulkie so the seams lay flat.

Had a chance to relax this summer?:)
xo

in an intro to quilting class, i'd probably want to learn how to get a perfect 1/4 seam allowance, pick good fabric combos, and match up points and seams. Good luck!

I'd love to do an intro to quilting class, as I'm currently taking a rather haphazard 'guess it and see' approach (I should probably spend some time this weekend surfing the net for some tutorials, right enough!)

I'd like to learn about the best seam allowances, how to press the seams (as a dessmaker and teddy bear maker my instinct is to press open, but I've

Yes, I think pressing and seam allowances would pretty much do it for me too ...

Hey! congrats Amy on being in this month's British Patchwork & Quilting in their Wandering the Web section ... xx

I've never made a quilt, but have sewn for years. I've seen a lot about cutting, seams, pressing and fabrics and could always learn more. However, If this is a basics class, for someone like me, I'd really love to hear about thread and thread selection.
What should the makeup be (Cotton/polyester/embroidery floss)
Are the threads sold in Nat'l fabric stores ok to use

P.S. I forgot to say that I'm dying to try making a quilt and have really enjoyed your blog over the last few months. You have such a fresh outlook on quilting and life that I enjoy, so thanks!
