Since all of my intentions of posting a Christmas greeting never materialized, Happy Boxing Day everyone! (To all who celebrate that holiday, and to the rest of us who should, because another holiday the day after Christmas sounds like the best idea ever.)
I hope it was a sweet weekend with those you love, or at least some really good food. The highlights for me included time with my parents and all of my siblings in town, receiving more of these cute little strawberry ornaments from my cute Hmong neighbor
and giving my brother and grandma the quilts I made for them. I'm kicking myself I didn't get a better picture with my Grandma - she was so over the moon with the quilt, it really was a sweet moment. I gave her one years ago and she's loved it so much, so I figured it was about time we it again. Because when you're almost 93, you deserve another quilt! (The pattern is Modern Buzzsaw from my book, Fabulously Fast Quilts.)
Pictures of the quilt for my brother are yet to come. Because all he received was a quilt top (doh). It's off to the quilters to get finished this week. Good thing he's an understanding brother. 😉
Thank you for all of you kind words of support and encouragement in this space over the past year(s). They mean more than you know and I feel lucky/blessed to interact with so many other good-hearted folks - even if it only through cyberspace. Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Seasons Greetings, Happy Kwanza, Feliz Navidad and whatever greeting you most prefer! Looking forward to 2017!

To answer your questions at the end of your post, D) all of the above! I am sewing up a storm here at Mom's even though it took me 5 days sit down at the sewing machine -- we were on the go plus I had a bunch of cutting to do. Just finished block 54 of 64 and need to get them done before I head home on Wednesday. 🙂 Love the photo of you and your grandma!

A!!! I can't wait to sew and I have enough stash in my sewing room to last me 10 years plus, so I'd better get at it! Thanks for all of your inspiration. I don't leave very many comments on your blog, but I always take a look. I hope that you have a fantastic '17!!

Answer to your questions...I would like to do all! My soul sings when I am in my sewing room and my machine is sewing along. I read every blog and newsletter that you send...love them and have sewn a number of items following your wonderful directions. Thanks for being you! A blessed 2017.

I so enjoy every word of your blogs. You are such an inspiration to me, not only for quilting but in some of your wise thoughts that you put into words so beautifully. I wish you and all those you hold dear health and happiness in the coming year and all the days to follow.

Amy, I love the photo of you and your Granny. She looks very happy with your quilt. Is that your pattern or one in your books? Thanks for a wonderful blog, I read them all. Happy New Year to you and your family from Canada!
