July 2023 Perfectly Pieced Subscription Box

Last Modified: July 5, 2023 by Amy · This post may contain affiliate links · This blog generates income via ads · 1 Comment

This week I've been having a great time playing with the most recent Perfectly Pieced subscription box from ME Time Delivered. The block design for this month is a variation on a classic Shoo Fly block. The subscription also includes the digital embroidery files and canvas blank for a fun collectible pin banner and a fantastic digital quilting file. It's one I can definitely see myself using over and over again!

    This month's box included:

    • 1 Custom Charm Pack of assorted 5" x 5" precut squares
    • 1 bundle of 1 ¼+ combined yards of fabric for projects
    • Full color block instructions for 2", 4", 6" and 8" Shoo Fly blocks
    • Spool of Glide polyester embroidery thread
    • Collectible Pin Banner blank
    • Collectible Pin July 2023

If you’re new to the Perfectly Pieced system from ME Time Embroidery, here’s a simplified explanation: Perfectly Pieced is a system for foundation piecing perfect quilt blocks using the hoop on a sewing machine equipped with machine embroidery capabilities. (I’m using the Baby Lock Destiny II.) This review is sponsored by M.E. Time, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Each month, M.E. Time releases a new foundation-pieced quilt block and coordinating digital quilted pattern that is available in 4 different sizes (2″, 4″, 6″ and 8″ squares) with 4 different project patterns (1 for each of the block sizes) AND corresponding digital quilting designs.

    Quilted Sunglasses Case Pattern

This month's pattern included a fun quilted sunglasses case using the 2" x 2" blocks.

A definite advantage of foundation piecing a 2" x 2" quilt block is that you get a tiny little block that is perfectly accurate.

Plus, if you have options for using larger hoop sizes on your embroidery machine, you can make multiple blocks at once.

When piecing these 2" x 2" blocks I used the option to piece and quilt each block individually. This includes a step for adding batting before piecing so that when the block is finished, the quilting really pops.

I love how the quilting pattern in the blocks adds so much perfect details AND the pattern connects and repeats when the blocks are pieced together.

The step-by-step instructions are fantastic for every project making it easy to succeed at trying something new.

I also had a fun time playing with the assorted charms to make a mini quilt using the 4" x 4" block.

As you can see, this time I inverted the block colors. Instead of the white Shoo Fly blocks with the scrappy colored colors like in the original sample, I used the colored charms for the main blocks and the black and white Blossom fabric as the background for a cute mini quilt.

The fun thing about the Perfectly Pieced boxes is you have the option to follow the included instructions, but you can also get creative with the fabric bundle, making the project your own.

Digital Machine Quilting Designs in an Embroidery Hoop

I machine quilted this mini using the digital quilting design that came with this month's subscription and the Clear Blue Tiles system.

Every month there is a new all-over digital quilting design included in the subscription to add to your library. And they can be used over and over on any future project. This month's design is a puffy, stipple design and I love the allover texture it gives the quilt. I'll definitely be using this one again.

You can read more about the Kimberbell Clear Blue Tiles machine quilting system for embroidery machine here. It's an incredibly simple and genius way to machine quilt projects on your home machine.

The unique machine quilting design itself is a $9 - $12 value and you get an exclusive new design included in every monthly Perfectly Pieced subscription.

LEARN ABOUT AND SEE MORE PERFECTLY PIECED PROJECTS

You can read more details about the Perfectly Pieced system and how it works here.

Each Perfectly Pieced is available as a monthly doorstep subscription OR a monthly digital subscription. ALL subscribers receive the following through their ME Time Delivered account:

    • One quilt block in four sizes (2×2, 4×4, 6×6, and 8×8)
    • Exclusive background quilting files (customized block-by-block files as well as allover quilting files)
    • Project charts with instructions for completing the projects
    • Digital embroidery files
    • Fabric requirement charts

The Digital subscription is a great option if you don’t need more fabric, and only want the digital files.

The Monthly Doorstep subscription includes all of the items listed above, plus a collectible box delivered to their home that includes:

    • A curated fabric bundle (with enough fabric to complete the project)
    • Printed, step-by-step instructions for completing the block
    • One coordinating spool of thread
    • One notion

Because this is the first anniversary of the Perfectly Pieced subscription, this month's box contains an extra special item:

The canvas pennant banner was included in this month's Doorstep subscription as well as the digital file to stitch on it, making a fun keepsake banner for pin collecting. (And seeing as this month's box also came with a coordinating pin, I'm wondering if there might be more of them included in future boxes...)

I used thread colors that have been included in past months' boxes to customize my banner. I'm excited to finish it and hang it up in my sewing room.

Perfectly Pieced Subscription box contains the fabric, supplies, and digital filed for foundation pie

I have so much fun with these boxes from M.E. Time Delivered. If you want to see a video of this month's blocks pieced step by step, checkout this video at OklaRoots’ YouTube Channel.

You can also see some of my past Perfectly Pieced projects January '22, October '22, and April '23.

The July box is currently available this month. And I’m loving the preview for the August box. Another great block for playing with foundation piecing!

      Hi Amy
Glad you got to spend time with your family recently. The photos are fabulous. Thanks also for selling your Portsmouth collection at a great price. As you can tell, I am investing in backing and backgrounds. I already have the layer cake. Can't wait for it to come!
