We are officially down to less than a week before school starts here. And as a result, we are trying to make the most of that limited time. I feel so incredibly behind on many things: projects, emails, life in general...but don't want to waste the end of summer, so those things will have to wait a little while longer.
There will be time to catch-up later. If I ever catch-up. This summer has been a doozy.
I did however, start cutting into my Pot Luck fat quarters (combined with the rest of my American Jane hoard collection) to make some Dresden blocks. I figured I could take them with me and do the applique part on some car trips. Until I realized I had cut the background blocks 3" too small. D'oh! Ahh, summer. The season when my brain officially turns to mush.
Karen - Quilts...etc.
every time I see a Dresden plate with those pointed tips it makes me want to make one. Lovely photos!

What Karen said! ^^^ and I do love those fabrics!

your dresdens look so pretty, love the bright colors! I know what you mean, school started back this week and other than being sleep deprived things are already getting back to normal here and it feels good!

Love those dresdens! You made me HAVE to order the latest fat quarter pack. My wallet thanks you. As for summer, it's sprinted by. Your photo reminds me of how surprised I was to see how low the lakes and reservoirs are out there. I hope you have a terrible winter with TONS of snow LOL!

I'm sorry that I suckered you into buying that fabric. 😉 (Not really. You'll thank me.)

Yes, the water is so low here this year!! Last winter was the pits because it was miserable and cold and yucky, but there was no point to it because there was so little snow accumulation. Lame winter. If it's going to be winter, let's just get some water out of it, at least.

Let me tell you...that first photograph in this post is gorgeous. Definitely one to be framed! ... Quilting and emails will always be waiting... time with family is precious. Glad you are enjoying the last few days of your summer with the kids. And I love your Dresden fabrics too. Great colors and prints!

Love your Dresden's, they are so cute!!! Mine went back to school today. The wee ones left are taking a nap right now and it is oh so quiet. I should go down and get sewing on my QAL, but I am just taking one day to enjoy the peace and quiet and catching up on some emails. Good Times 🙂

Enjoy your last week :o)

Oh, I love American Jane! The prints are so perfect in a Dresden! And enjoy your last week of summer! We're going to stretch ours out well into September! Hopefully it will help the cold, dark winter pass that much more quickly 😉
Katy
Love the dresdens and absolutely love the fabrics you've used, but what I want to know is where did you take those pics? I want to go there. Need more vacation time.

Thanks Katy! The top picture is at Bear Lake, Utah. It was such a pretty night. The middle one is in Pleasant Grove, Utah.

Vacations are indeed good. 🙂

I'm eagerly awaiting that fabric! I've been drooling over it since the first time I saw the Market photos. Dresdens are a great way to go with it, too. It will be a really charming quilt.

The dresdens look fabulous. I wish you could come Quilt in the Garden in Livermore, CA, the last weekend of September--Sandy Klopp is one of the featured quilters! It would be fun to attend together.
