Who out there loves the feel of a finished craft project? (*raising my hand*) How often do you see cute projects on Pinterest or Etsy and think, "I could make that, or teach my kids to make that..." but never get around to gathering all the supplies and/or actually finishing said craft/plan/project? (*raising both hands*) Well then check out the new Crafternoon projects from Hazel & Ruby.
This cute tea-towel apron was designed by my friend Sachiko of Tea Rose Home, who asked if I would like to play with one of her kits.
All Crafternoon kits come in a darling self-contained kit and are available at JoAnn Fabric and Craft Stores, on their website, and at other craft stores nationally.
All supplies for each project (with the exception of basic sewing notions, sewing machine, etc) and a reusable pattern are contained in the kit . Here are the cute supplies for the tea-towel apron. For me, that is the best part. I'm so much more likely to finish a project if I've got all my needed bits and pieces in one place and ready to go!
This apron project came together in about an hour (as an experienced sewist. Allow a little more time for beginners.) This apron would be a fun project to teach someone basic sewing skills. Sewing the curves of the applique pieces and sewing down the trim is slightly more tricky so an experienced sewer would be helpful for guidance on those parts, but other than that, it's a quick project with a nice-feeling of accomplishment (plus style) at the end!
I've been wearing mine around ever since - it's especially handy to have a pocket for my phone when I'm wearing a pocketless skirt!
After making Sachiko's tea-towel apron, I definitely want to check out the other Crafternoon kits to make with my own little crafters.

When I read Tea Rose post yesterday, for some reason I recognized but could not remember who she had help her test the apron pattern. Today, with your post, it clicked. hee, hee,hee (got to be silly now and then) I think it is fabulous that you helped her out. I may have to learn how to get connected and help test out some patterns, it would be a lot of fun and a great way to get to know other quilters even better.
